D’arcy makes everything come alive—leading her guests through the game with charmingly positive, goofy energy. Her unflappable spirit make the moments she says something darkly witty all the more delightful. She’s who you want to be when you grow up even if you’re the same dang age. A podcast for anyone living with 10,000 open tabs on their phone.
I’ve been listening since the first episode and this show is just pure fun. I thought this would be a podcast I listen to when I run out of things but it’s one of my two must-listens every week. It’s fun and you learn lots of random trivia.
And D’arcy is the best host! She balances keeping the game moving very well with just having fun. I loved her before, but now I need her hosting more fun, silly things!
Love this show so much !
I love this show and D’arcy is an awesome host. The show is an easy fun listen and I need more of D’arcy’s cool supportive energy in my life. I just found this show after listening to the sample on an old episode of Smartless and now I’m rapidly bingeing all the episodes to catch up.
Darcy you are so fun and so I are all the guests. And the game! Fun mental break at work listening! Here’s a fun wiki hole I just went down! Mrs Parker and the Vicious circle!
Fun show but get rid of multiple choice! It’s not an engaging listen. Much more fun to hear these funny creative guests improv answers to the questions.
Just listened to the first episode after hearing the “sample” on Smartless. Super fun idea and love the idea of donating to Wikipedia for the winner!
One tech suggestion: incorporate chapters using images from the Wikipedia page (they’re cc0 so all clear) and use the chapter titles as a scoreboard!
It’s hard to make a new game show! They are figuring it out and the premise is solid. I think it’s just going to get better as they figure out the format. D’Arcy is so quick, that’s my main takeaway.
... the host drops so many unnecessary f-bombs that reek of trying to hard snd the guests follow suite. Perhaps I'll listen another day in hopes the vocabulary expands.
I love it! But the technical errors and obvious internet troubles need attention. If I can’t hear answers and jokes because your connection is spotty, then you need to adjust your setttings. The Beyoncé episode was so hard to listen to.
This allows me to continue working while doing what I actually want to do which is click around on Wikipedia links and read stuff out loud to anyone who will listen to me
Love Darcy from “The Good Place”, but I don’t think this is her medium. She doesn’t flow with her guests or the content, and sounds stiff and lost and not particularly funny. Also, these guests are kind of awful and not funny. Lastly, there are too many breaks for such a short podcast.
I love trivia and playing games with friends so I’ve been enjoying this podcast and playing along. Something different to the usual podcast queue nice to mix it up. It’s light and easy background listening and makes me laugh and learn random things while doing chores around the house. Some of the transitions for example the dial up tone are a little quirky though, could do without them!
I love D’Arcy but the format of this makes no sense and it’s so frustrating. Why do they sometimes spend 3 questions on a topic sometimes 1 question per topic and sometimes use the answer to the question as a jumping off point and sometimes not. I would like it so much more if it was formulaic like the answer to each question lead to a new topic.
I love the content and I find it funny and somewhat educational. If I had to criticize anything, is that D’arcy most have a “Swearing” quota to meet with Wondery lol. I mean, I get it that you add swearing to a casual conversation but it’s not always necessary to do so. So if you can look past this and want to start your own swear jar to see how many they say? That will be fun too
Some people said they didn’t like the swearing here and there, but it feels really conversational—not just bc of the swearing but bc it isn’t purposefully removed like for many shows. Listen if you want to feel like you are at your friends’ houses for a game night and conversation. Good stuff.
I love trivia, is my new favorite trivia podcast.
I am loving this podcast, D’Arcy Carden is one of my top Hollywood crushes because of how funny and sweet she is, (not to mention a mega babe!) But please, for the love of god, remove the awful dial up modem sound. It’s horrible to hear through headphones.
Host brings energy and excitement, but the format is rough and unrefined. The first ad break (that isn’t a break, after question one sets an odd rhythm. I expect the answer of question 1 to become the topic of question 2, and so on. However, the manner in which the questions stick to different topics unevenly makes the show disjointed. I listen to 2.5 episodes to see if the show needed to work out the kinks on the first recording, but there was no discernible improvement form show 1 to show 3.
I basically enjoy this podcast. It’s a fun and loose game show that is pure entertainment fluff. D’Arcy is a charming and funny host. But I’m only giving it three stars because one of the guests on the “Tetris” episode makes a seriously unfunny joke regarding children with cancer. I guess he’s never known anyone that died of cancer, or else he would not have made such a poor joke.
Also, D’ Arcy’s occasional swearing seems really out of place, as if they needed to make this show as “adult” as possible. Sometimes using profanity can be funny…if you’re Richard Pryor or Chris Rock. Sometimes, it just seems deeply lazy, which is the case here. Otherwise, a good idea for a show.
One of the best podcast for learning stupid stuff and laughing a lot. Everyone should follow this show because they don’t take themselves too. Seriously, but have fun. Great format really enjoying the show.
WOW! D’arcy Carden is such a riot and has the perfect voice for a hosting a podcast! I love listening to this show in the car, in the shower, in bed, when I am cleaning my house, when I am exercising…you name it! Brilliant show, brilliant writers, brilliant guests, brilliant host, brilliant EVERYTHING. I am stuck on it and just cannot get enough. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for this podcast!
Listen to it every day, and my husband usually hates noise before he sleeps, but in his words “this podcast is to good to miss” he now Listen’s to it all the time, and he even listens to it when he’s doing work, lately he’s listened to”Fear of dolphins” and “Tetris” Thank you to my 3 friends Kelly Mariah and Evland for introducing me to this! And Thank you D’arcy for this amazing listen! It’s truly informative and inspirational!
I like the concept and I LOVE trivia but this just doesn’t work. It’s not compelling. The host is fine, I like her acting career, but she lacks the kind of personality you need for these to be successful.
The first two episodes were a riot and I’m hooked. I just replayed the Lenny Kravitz’s specially hired employee question for my husband and I’m almost crying laughing so hard… can’t wait for next week!
