Not only is it entertaining with a slightly degenerate charm, but it’s one of the only places that actually tells you something. So much of football media is group think and reputation scouting. These guys actually know what they are talking about, watch the film, and put real opinions out there. Instant must listen
This is truly a more upper-intermediate tier of football podcast. Here, your eyes won’t glaze over as they discuss basic, common knowledge football subjects (like you find in most outlets). You also won’t have to deal with boredom from over-wonkinesse designed to impress you. Nate, Charles and Matt provide a Goldilocks-level of in-depth analysis that gives you something to chew on, but stops short of giving you a headache.
I trust Nate Tice to dissect football nuance and succinctly explain it to his listeners no matter where he works. He speaks about football’s inner workings with such delight it’s palpable and has made me a fan of Nate.
I will mock Tice’s erroneous hopes for the ‘23 Falcons offense until that memory escapes my clutches. It will be sad day, a red day, a sword day, and the sun rises. It was silly. I respect that they (the Athletic duo) so foolishly thought that team could pass the football forward.
But yeah you know he is right about other things more often than so brutally missing the mark the way Jaime Lannister misses his right hand.

Having listened to Matt since the Fantasy Stronghold when I was starting high school, enjoyed Nate’s thoughtful analysis for quite a while, and long thought Charles to be in the highest tier of podcast guest and writer…this is going to be an excellent show. In the modern era of football writers and analysts having to adapt to an increasingly poorly run industry, getting these 3 guys in a room immediately vaults this podcast to the upper echelons of NFL pods. This will be a must listen ever week whether it’s the season or offseason.
