Up and Vanished Weekly

Reviews For Up and Vanished Weekly

I’am listening to the Ellen Greenberg episode, so sad. The hosts are fabulous. It was good to hear Amy’s opinion from one of my favorite podcasts. Wow! This is the best coverage of Brian , so sad.
I love UAV but this show has been disappointing. The flow is terrible. Hoping they figure it out and it gets better.
I love the stories but I cant take the way the female speaks ugghhhh why…….does……she…..stop….after….every…..word its so annoying
I like the content, but the host needs improvement. In natural conversation she sounds fine, but when she’s reading her script, she. sounds. like. this. Very robotic with unnecessary pauses between syllables.
I'm getting pretty tired of the constant mispronunciation of names, places, etc from the hosts. Do your research. It shows a script is only being read and in a very terrible way. Do better. Your latest episode-"Juanita Park" in Philadelphia. It's Juniata Park pronounced "Jew-knee-ah-ta". Frustrating to listen to.
Uuggggghhhhhhhhh. The cadence of Maggie’s voice is beyond annoying. The content isn’t bad but I cannot get past this.
The two of you together is like, pairing Superman and Wonder Woman. The result of the difference this show has made, also superhero level.
U&V Weekly is a great new podcast. It’s a nice compliment to the deep dives of U&V. The episodes are new and interesting. Many of the cases they highlight I have never heard about before and I devour true crime podcasts.
Best ep So far
This is so lazy. Really?
And tell the story. This podcast is all over the place. So frustrating
Unfortunately this podcast is not for me. I LOVE Up and Vanished. It was the first podcast series I listened to. Payne is awesome at what he does. I was excited when I heard there was a new series. I’m 3 episodes in and won’t be finishing. As some others stated, the host is not easy to listen to. It’s almost annoying with the way she gets excited about people missing. Also, keep the politics out of this. That has deterred me as well. I would love to see the original show come back with just Payne as the host. I was disappointed that he is not on this show much.
Huge fan of Payne and most Tenderfoot productions. True Crime Garage has covered each of these cases and in an overwhelmingly better fashion. Good luck, I’d love to see this one improve.
He speaks in three second segMENTS and raises his voice at the end of EACH ONE. It’s really annoyING.
Saying “our investigation will be right back” is a stretch. There is no investigation happening in the show . Super underwhelming. All speculation and very little facts, not very interesting. I’ve never found anything Maggie does compelling. This just proves, her content is not for me. Nothing new and just trying to profit off other peoples pain. Feels icky.
Please stop trying to be crime junkie. It PAINS me to leave a low review because I have been a long time lister to all things tenderfoot. I hope things can improve because I really want to love this show and think it has great potential. I want this to be seen as constructive feedback and not criticism. The first three episodes cover cases that have recently been covered by other popular true crime pods like crime junkie, rabia and Ellyn solve the case etc. as a true crime fan this was disappointing. I feel like this loses the spirit of Up and Vanished which is covering cases that don’t normally receive attention. I know this show is new but if there are really hundreds of cases that tenderfoot gets alerted to surely we can cover ones that have not already had other major pods and networks covering. Two other points of constructive feedback is that it is difficult when the show has a host, narrator and guest writer. It is hard to follow three voices and POv and feels choppy. Lastly please increase your nuance and education around discussing things like undocumented persons, race, and gender. Offer resources in the show notes like Payne has done for MMIW/MMIP. I think that’s lacking so far and could be improved. Ex understanding why potentially undocumented workers would leave a job site and the mistreatment innocent undocumented folks have faced by the police and immigration (episode 2). Episode 2 felt really shallow and dismissive in this sense. Also this is not hosted by Payne unless you count having a guest that is not Payne and only have Payne read the credits as “hosting”
Awesome new series! I’ve followed Maggie’s podcasts for years and this one doesn’t disappoint. I love how methodically the cases are laid out, a lot of other hosts lose me when they’re jumping from one thing to the next.
I was an original, day one, Payne listener and fan. So, I was curious how the weekly UV show would go. And, I must say that I really love and appreciate Maggie’s journalistic style. I really love and enjoy her edgy thoughtfulness with each and every story. Love it!!!
Is it gonna be a separate podcast
I love Payne and I love up and vanished and I want so bad to like this podcast, but this host does not know how to speak on air. I cannot stand her pauses and odd emphasis. Seems very forced. Sorry, but I need the flow to be good as well as the content.
LOVE this podcast! I have a question for the special Q&E or just for your advice. It’s haunted me for years & I’m hoping to get you guys’ opinion. It has to do with my former co-worker’s sudden death & the ME’s report that left me with more questions than answers. It was ruled a suicide but I’m not 100% sure. There are some things that don’t line up with the death scene and her REALLY shady husband who was having an affair. He didn’t hold a service, I never got to mourn her- it was like she was just snuffed out of existence one day. If there’s more to be known about her death, I want the truth to be known. She was brave and strong and deserves to be remembered. I don’t know where to go from here; I need some help finding answers. I don’t want to put too many details here. How can I contact you with the full story?
Any recent updates on the Maura Murray case?
I don’t love this podcast which is too bad because up and vanished is one of my favorites. It’s just a bunch of guessing and speculation. 😑
I typically really like tenderfoot but I couldn’t even finish an episode. Her odd pauses and emphasis on strange words is impossible to ignore.
Have love all thing tenderfoot, listen to all the shows for a number of years now, was very exited about this one as I am well all new shows. But every episode has something to do with someone being racist or that there wasn’t enough diversity to solve the case.
I want to dive into the uncertainty of eye witness testimony and how inaccurate it really is. How it’s swayed by people’s perspective and life experiences. This topic fascinates me. Should eyewitness testimony be allowed in court?
I listen to everything maggie does. She’s a Pulitzer winning journalist so her thing is investigations this is a bit out of her wheelhouse but I’m staying tuned because I love UAV and maggie so I’m here for it!
Perfect bite size true crime episodes!
I love all things Up and Vanished, the content is good—but why does Maggie sound so happy and giddy when discussing these horrific cases? She needs to listen back to her voice and realize how overjoyed she sounds sometimes… I don’t think she’s doing it on purpose!
I mostly love Tenderfoot productions but I’m not liking this one. I think my main gripe is the woman/ women who host it seem giddy to discuss their case at the beginning of every episode. Like fan girls. I stop listening to any podcast that has this tone. I just don’t care for it. I’m not above listening to true crime for entertainment (cmon let’s be real) but I do think it’s inappropriate and unprofessional to be fangirling when talking about your favorite case. I know not everyone is a fan of Payne but I will say he is excellent at telling a story and I find him much more engaging to listen to. Wish he had more to do with this podcast.

Meh

If you are looking for more Payne content, don’t look here. I really wanted to like this podcast, but it is just awful to listen to…Maggie as a host is not good…vocal fry and seems very unqualified to talk about victims without having much life experience in many areas. I cringe every time she speaks. I want more Payne content, but this is not it.
Up and Vanished Season One (the case on Tara Grinstead) was one of the first true crime podcasts I listened to, and I have been hooked ever since. Payne is a dedicated investigator who isn’t afraid to ruffle feathers to find the truth and we now have Maggie to bring a new voice into the mix! I listen to and love everything this podcast offers, especially the fact that it’s weekly now! Keep doing a great job Tenderfoot TV and thanks Payne for sending this my way!
You know it won’t disappoint. Thanks Payne!
A refreshing look back at some of the cases covered in the original Up and Vanished podcast. So glad Payne sent me, as the first episode featured one of my favourite hosts, Meredith Stedman.
Great podcast! Love that it highlights missing person cases and gives them the second chance they deserve. Thanks for sending me, Payne!
While we wait for the newest season of UAV to come back, UAV Weekly is a great way to get my true crime fix!
Why do they stop the recording with Steve just to tell us what’s going to be said next? Also, ads much?
Up and Vanished is a phenomenal podcast so it is great to see UAV Weekly is providing an opportunity to get even more stories out there that need to be told.
UVW is definitely an interesting podcast. The cases are presented in a way that brings life to the victims and respectfully honors their families and memories. I really appreciate that Maggie brings in experts, and fellow journalists, to explore the case with her. Theres one note I will make about production. It’s not clear what is happening in the story before the host start speculating and reacting to information they know , but we the listener don’t know. I feel like maybe there need to be more brought up front about the case before all of the discussion

Another amazing podcast by Payne Lindsey that is intriguing and keeps you engaged
This podcast is incredible. I love Up and Vanished, so having it weekly is amazing. I love Maggie and am oddly obsessed with her voice. The podcast is well done and goes into great detail. If Payne tells me to listen, I’m doing it. IN PAYNE WE TRUST!

I have been a true crime addict for most of my life- this show has not disappointed. I love the awareness being brought to so many cases- you never know where vital information will come from. By getting these stories out, it’s giving the families another chance
I love the original and I love the weekly sequel. Maggie is excellent and I’m glad to have met her podcast-ualy I can’t wait to hear her own pod and give it a go. Listen and enjoy!
Gripping stories each week getting the air time and 2nd look they deserve!
It is a good listen about true crime, they do weekly updates on different cases, they don’t go to much in depth about cases but just enough information to spread the word.
Great mini version of my fave, Up and Vanished. I like the condensed stories. Oh, and Payne sent me!
This show has a knack for pulling you into the emotions and strange sense of loss the families and investigators deal with trying to solve and come to terms with these cases. It's more about spreading the word and seeking answers than simply telling an engaging story. I love this show!
