Scottish History

Reviews For Scottish History

I just listened to the Glencoe podcast - what a fantastic combination of dramatization (“imagine you’re lying in bed, with your baby in the crib beside and two soldiers just beyond the blanket curtain...”) to help us understand the lore, followed by an excellent explanation of the political context that led up to the events and the political impact eventually felt by the events. My friends and I leave for 2 weeks in Scotland soon, and this really helped the history of the Glencoe, Loch Ness, Fort William area come alive for me! I only wish that you had more spare time to produce more of these, but am so grateful that you share your hobby with us!
Just finished listening to the 1745 episode. Sean writes evocatively and beautifully of a time and place most of us just aren't familiar with. I look forward to the next episode-hope I won't have to wait another three years. (Hint, hint.)
After a three years of no updates the latest episode is one of the best history podcast I've heard. I hope the next one isn't such a long wait.
This is an excellent podcast for those who wish to know more about the history of Scotland. Since I'm American I didn't get too much Scottish history in school, but this is a subject of great interest to me. I appreciate this podcast and only wish there were more! The quality of the audio leaves something to be desired, however. But the content is wonderful!
These podcasts are VERY entertaining and informative. They make the subject matter completely accessible, even to a total Scottish History novice like myself. I only wish there were more of them!
