I've been a huge SRV fan from the first time I've heard him like many. Well before that I really never cared about soloing and he opened my world. Well after trying to learn from tablature for a while I gave up. Now years later I find this and it's been amazing
These lessons should be insightful for absolute beginners, but I don't find them very useful as veteran guitarist. Teaching someone to end a lick on the tonic every time is a very bad idea. Sure you will sound right but all you're licks will sound the same. Every note in the pentatonic scale works with the I IV and V end the lick wherever you want. That's the beauty of the scale, what you need most is phrasing and emotional content
I have improved my guitar licks within the first 5 minutes of these podcasts..the instructions are clear, the sound is great, and anthony is a great teacher..do yourself a favor and watch these podcasts..they will not dissapoint!..For intermediate players looking to improve their lead guitar playing these episodes are a must watch!!! 5 stars all the way!!!!
just found this podcast, so far its been very helpful. huge SRV/King/Mayer fan. If you are taking any request some more Mayer would be great and I'd love to learn Darker Side by Johnny Lang. The solo/outro is absolutely amazing. thanks again
I've been following this podcast for at least a year...they are so fun and helpful that I actually purchased a package of the premium lessons on the steviesnacks website (the lessons are great, as well). If you like this kind of music (texas blues / srv / hendrix influenced guitar) I don't think there is a better resource on the internet, anywhere. I look forward to each week's free lesson very much. Keep up the great work, Anthony!!!!
I just came across this awesome podcast and it is a real blessing to see that this very gifted guitar player that the Lord has bless him has taking the time to share his knowgles with us.
And this guy very down to earth as well
So I see have some catching to do
hey anthony thanks for all the lessons they have been amazing in my learning process of just blues in general, I was trying to send you a message directly but had no luck, I know you have all your lessons planned out but if theres any room for requests then I am officially requesting Dirty Pool. That song amazes me. Thanks for everything!!
I found this podcast when downloading some SRV tracks. I hadn't touched my electric guitar in over a year (I usually play fingerstyle accoustic), and was feeling inspired, so I dove into this series for a fresh start. Having read books, watched videos, etc, these just clicked in a way that wasn't so rigidly academic as some of the other methods I've experienced. The tutorials are well paced, precise, and well filmed. I played until my fingers blistered. This guy knows his stuff.
