Reviews For Awesomed By Comics Podcast

Down to earth husband and wife duo. Great insight into the latest in the world of comic reads. Discovered quite a few new ones through these two. All the best and worst of the week. Good stuff!

I love you guys. I love that you guys have a kid. I have a kid and I love comics. We can relate!!
Every single one of us should be greatful when Evie and Aaron post a new episode! I know I am. ACBP is the greatest comics podcast out there!
Is hard work for parents to make comics podcast! Is hard work for parents to even read comics! People make comics fun, Bro. Don't not listen to comics podcast, Bro. Bad idea, Bro.
I love this show. I started listening about a year and a half ago and enjoyed it so much I went back and listened to all the shows from the beginning. The skits are hilarious. The hosts work well together and you can tell they enjoy doing the show. I learned of some really great books here that I would have missed otherwise. And Aaron needs to do the Galactus joke again.
I've listened forever, and obviously it's slowed down what with baby in the picture...but when they are able to get one out, this is still spectacularly fun programming. 2 suggestions: 1) what about recording a category or day, or somesch? then you guys wouldn't have to have an entire 60-90 minutes ofquiet baby time to get one in, just plan to do one of your categories a day, or a couple over a couple days, then put them all together for a full show. 2) please do a show soon, because I desperately want to hear you make Peter's encounter with Otto's memory of hanky panky with Aunt May a panelof the week.:) Keep up the great work! :)
I recently found this podcast through War Rocket Ajax, and immediately liked the hosts, Evie and Aaron, for no reason I could put words to. That is, until episode #148, wherein Aaron listed his picks for the two worst songs in history: 1) "Rock On", by David Essex, 2) "The Freshman", by The Verve. Then Evie chimed in with, 3) "Breakfast at Tiffany's", by Deep Blue Something. "Ah!" I thought. "I like them because they're correct." If you agree with at least two out of three of those, or, I'll venture to add, one of those AND the statement that Supertramp is generally terrible, you're pretty much guaranteed to like this podcast. Even if you don't care about comics. (Well…)
The married co hosts of this show are funny, smart and insightful in their conversations and commentary. Hearing an intelligent female perspective on comics has changed my mind about aspects of the medium more then once. The show keeps a funny, light hearted tone throughout and is always fun to listen to. Enjoy.
I first discovered ABCP through their friendship with War Rocket Ajax, but now my love for these guys has eclipsed even my affection for the show that first got me listening to podcasts. A smart, funny couple (well, Evie is funny and Aaron has his moments) (I kid!) review comics with occasional guest appearances by the adorable other members of their household. Both of these guys offer a distinct viewpoint and good sense of taste and you should listen every time they get a chance to make an episode. Even if they are consistently wrong on Grant Morrison's Batman.
This is one of the best podcasts out there, but maybe if the baby is going to limit you to one podcast a month, maybe you should cover the whole month rather than just the last week.
Evie is awesomed. Aaron is always talking about how funny he is. I look forward to that whenever he gets around to it.
I am only 8 shows in but so far one of the best podcast i've ever heard.
For the last few years Evie and Aaron have produce a tight well thought out podcast giving a nice weekly snapshot of the week's comics. The strongly structured format allows the hosts to bounce around without getting too digressive from the point at hand, while Evie & Aaron's humor keep the format from being overly restrictive, its an incredibly difficult balance that they pull off each and every week. Evie & Aaron have cats, the cats make appearances during the podcast as they make appearances in life in general, wandering in, attacking some unknown ball of fluff or milk ring and then disappearing again... Evie and Aaron curse, but then again everyone who has to read a Jeff Leob book should be expected to curse from time to time. The end of the year podcast has taken a dark turn as it appears that Evie & Aaron have devolved into a shared delusion that one of their cats (named "May") is actually a baby and they are now raising "her" as thier child. The podcast now has the added layer of being a window into the downward spiraling delusion these two have had as a result of the cancelation of Gail Simone's Secret Six and Birds of Prey. So if you like Comic books, "best of the week" formats, descents into maddness, and cats this is the podcast for you.
This podcast is wizard!!

Great job, different perspective!
I started listening to the show last summer when a friend suggested it and I really enjoyed it but lately it's become an anti DC show.I can understand not liking some of the books for various reasons but the judgmental tone for people who might actually like the current books is a little off putting. There are men and women who don't agree with the assumption DC is sexist against women. I hope that we get to hear other opinions so we can hear fair dialogue both pro and con about women in comics
I 1st heard Evie as a guest on iFanboy podcast. Then decided to check out ABCP, I was not disappointed. Very informative and love the format of their segments. A MUST listen for anyone looking for a GREAT comic book podcast!
Awesomed By Comics is one of the most entertaining podcasts I've ever enjoyed. Hand down, this is the best comic book podcast. Evie and Aaron are funny, smart, and adorable.
My boyfriend told me if I wanted to get into comics, I should check out this podcast. It is thanks to ABCP that I started to really get into comics. Once I found one that I loved, my boyfriend started suggesting others. Then I picked up a few more Aaron and Evie praised, and since then I've discovered some on my own. The uniqueness of the podcast really set itself out from the others. Both Aaron and Evie are incredibly charming, and hilarious to boot, so that makes it even better. They seem like your everyday comic book nerds, it's almost like you know them after listening to just a few episodes. I would recomend this podcast to anyone who thinks they might want to start reading comics, or just want to hear someone elses' take on your favorite comics.
A favorite on so many levels. Funny and well-produced. Aaron stop talking over Evie! ;)
Aaron is a bit chatty, but he's mostly harmless :) Oh, and Evie sounds hot.
It is one my favorite podcasts. Aaron and Evie always make laugh. It is my goto comics podcast. I would like to hear more about other traditional dances of assam, but you can't have everything.
Been listening to this wonderfully entertaining podcast non-stop since episode 20-ish. They not only talk about mainstream (Marvel, DC) comics, but introduced me to lesser known titles. Some of these are gems and I owe it all to Aaron and Evie. Thanks guys.
but I love it! I know (knew) next to nothing about comics except for the fabulous, amazing Sandman and a few graphic novels. But somehow I happened on this podcast and actually looked up my local comic book store and purchased X-Factor Vol. #215 just yesterday. I thought that if I got funny looks, I'd say I was buying them for my son. I love listening to Evie & Aaron and any/all guests. It's one of my 2 can't-live-without-it podcasts now!
Evie and Aaron are great insights on what is good and what is bad in the world of comic books. They are leading me to cool series like Justice League Generation Lost. This podcast comes out once every week and is an awesome podcast.
A must listen. The format uses weekly awards which give them the breadth to talk about anything, but keep the podcast fast and familiar with discrete progress every 'cast. There are standard categories and more esoteric ones which cover mainstream comics and indie discovery. The production values are stellar, voice clarity is crystal, the transitions are smooth and original, and Aaron- a talented musician- will provide musical innovations now and then... I still hear the Greg Land ditty every time I see his name or art. The only improvement would be the addition of iPod friendly Chapters to the 'cast which would help navigation and allow images and links to be right in the 'cast (for example the Panel of the Week) rather than requiring a visit to the blog after the fact (if one remembers to do so). The personalities are a perfect comedy duo with Evie as the straight man and Aaron as the funny man most times, but never in anything but a fun loving adorable way. They're not sappy but you know they love each other (and their cats!) which just makes the podcast that much more enjoyable.
Great! Insightful. I look forward to listening to this every week.
I like you guys. You made a new verb.
hi, i love the show :) the only thing that could possibly make this show better is if the hosts were invited to be on the NYCC panel re: podcasting. ;)
This podcast is awesome! The two hosts are very well versed and funny!
I have tried alot of comic podcast, and this is the only that doesn't bore me. These kids only talk about what they know, are funny, and just plain fun to listen to. The only thing that could make it better is if they recorded more frequently (twice a week?), talked less about marvel superheroes, and kept up on Scarlet, Scalped, and DMZ.
Evie and Aaron do one of the best comic book review podcasts on the Internet. Each week they hand out awards for the previous week's comics based on categories, which keeps the show flowing and very tight. They are funny, and do a great job of playing off each other. Most important is that they are good at reviewing comic books. Even when I don't necessarily agree with them, they are able to articulate why they liked (or disliked) a comic enough that I can then get a sense of if I will like it. As a result, I've picked up quite a few books based on their recommendations (Thanos Imperative for one) and they have yet to steer me wrong. This is the review podcast you should be listening to. Download it, you will not be sorry.
I really should have reviewed this show a year ago when I first started listening. But, what can I say, I'm one of those typical lazy podcast listeners who enjoy a podcast almost indefinitely without ever giving these awesome creators, Aaron and Evie, anything in return. Well enough! I want to give these two raconteurs all my support on a tremendous job well done. While, Aaron might sometimes be a little crass, and a little too self-assured, his creative riffs are almost always brilliant. And Evie is always there to give the show the necessary level-headedness. Brilliant! All true superhero comics fans should listen to this show! Just getting started listening to this show? All previous episodes are still available (free), so get started! With any luck you'll be fully caught up in a week or two, with a exploding headful of comics goodness.

I smelled the onions while I was listening to this super great podcast! Just the right mix of structure, quirk, intelligence, and comics. It covers all the ground between heady, lesser known indy comics to the big Two's latest cross-over bananza, with equal weight given to both sides of the spectrum. And Evie and Aaron are just plain likeable.
Awesomed By Comics, is a different kind of Pod Cast. The Smooth Jazzy feel make this a easly lissening relaxing pod cast. I enjoy their weekly wrape up of comic books in an award show style format, as well as their funny outlook on those comics. Plus they seem to cover more lesser know indy books then other pod cast, while still talking about the big titles of the week. Often I think this pod cast sound like is belong on a Radio station like NPR, as to why, I can't really say. I highly recomend this pod cast to any one who reads comic books.
The show is very funny and informative. The hosts have great chemistry and are both very quick witted. They are very creative in their award selections - and although I agree or disagree, it's nice to hear their informed opinions. They make me laugh as they don't get/don't like/hate the current Batman run.
ABC is a fantastic weekly podcast hosted by married comic connoisseurs Aaron and Evie. Not only are they smart and witty, but they play off eash other brilliantly; Warning: you will laugh out loud several times per show. I never miss an episode, and neither should you. Great, great stuff.
It's rare to find a comic review podcast that makes you laugh out loud, but also deals with the medium truthfully. It's not like Evie and Aaron are auditioning for a job in comics, so they say what they really feel. And that's invaluable when you're trying to wade through a lot of crap in order to find the good stuff. This podcast is well worth your time! Awesome, indeed.
After hearing Evie on iFanboy I decided to give ABC a try. One month, one week and catching up on nearly one hundred episode, I am missing not have two or three episode to get me through my work day. Really fantastic podcast and holds a permanent spot in my “listen first” playlist.

I heart this show <3 I first heard Evie when she filled in for Conor on the iFanboy Podcast and I knew I wanted to hear more of her opinions. I downloaded a couple of episodes and before I'd finished the first one I went ahead and subscribed. Evie and Aaron are thoughtful, funny and never shy away from giving their views on the books we're all reading (and some that we aren't, but should be). Thankfully I have a long, uneventful commute and I am quickly making my way through all of the older episodes (at the rate of 2-3 per day) while still keeping up with the new ones. I am both a Rockin' Bottom and an ABC Peep, consider me well and truely Awesomed ;)
I listen to two comics podcasts, this and War Rocket Ajax. I started listening to this after the "Crossover" episode the week of April Fool's Day. The reviews are both quick and deep at the same time. I am however unhappy that there isn't a real "Batman of the Week" category as there was when Sims was hosting the podcast.
Surely someone has already used that title but TOO BAD. I was introduced to Evie and Aaron by War Rocket Ajax, which is probably an ice burn since ABC has been running significantly longer. However, ABC quickly jumped into my podcast subscriptions and is one of the first things I listen to each week. There is an infectious chemistry between the hosts (one would hope!), and their highlighting of less well-known comics is much appreciated--I've gotten a ton of recs from their weekly awards. Highly recommended.
ABC is a unique podcast. It's biggest strength is its tight structure - every week the hosts run thorugh their Best Cover, Best Villain, and so on, running down what struck them most about the week's pile of comics (The blog this page links to is essential if you want to get the full effect.) One host is a relative newcomer just beginning to form expectations, while the other is a lifelong fan with all the history and baggage that implies. Together, they will suprise you over and over, coming up with new comics for you to try, new theories you never considered, and insane opinions you won't believe. Add in the excellent production values and Aaron's lapses into Early Morning DJ dementia, and you've got a podcast that will start your week off right.
Funny, informative, and the relationship between the two hosts is great. Highly recommended.
ABC is my weekly shoulda-picked-that-up-too podcast, by which I am always moved to lament the books I missed (that they loved). Evie and Aaron do a great job of integrating really thoughtful comics industry talk about creators, publishers, and events with content-based discussions and reviews of story, character, art, and arc. The award-show-ish format is perfect, and their high quality production moves smoothly from bit to bit. Great hosts, great content, great show.
Evie and Aaron bring something unique to a crowded genre of podcasting. While there are more comic book podcasts than you can shake a stick at, E+N bring a witty, smart and cohesive style to their show, and have a repoire with one another that only comes from being married to one another. If you like award show formats, or something like E! Talk Soup, but for comic books, this is a perfect addition to your iTunes library.
A very enjoyable podcast where comics are reviewed. The hosts' chemistry is undeniable (which is great because they're married). The comics reviews are diverse and well articulated. This podcast is always the first one I listen to each week.
Been listening well over a year. Never once have I not been entertained.
Things this show is other than awesome: super entertaining, laugh-so-hard-you-look-like-a-crazy-person-on-the-train funny, and made by people with really good taste in comics.
