Any time I am going through difficulties, and need encouragement through faith, I listen to Father Anthony. His ability to convey God's love and make sense of a world that seems so chaotic at times brings unbelievable peace.
I enjoy listening to these homilies, but I can barely hear it. I have to max out the Audio on my phone and car to hear anything. Can you please raise the volume levels before uploading. Thank you God bless
Laid back, spiritually nourishing and practical. Fr Anthony hits that balance between upholding the vocation of a priest as teacher and example while recognizing himself as a regular guy learing to follow Christ like every other Orthodox. He covers a wide range of issues in both a practical and spiritual way without forcing either one. Great podcast!
These splendid podcasts exhibit Fr. Anthony Perkins's wit, wisdom, and winning good humor. I could listen to them for hours (and occasionally, they take that long!). I have listened to some of them several times, and they remain interesting and worthwhile. Fr. Anthony's unique constellation of perspectives generates lots of food for thought.
Although I am not Eastern Orthodox, Father Anthony seems to talk about everything that I am interested in - ancestral diet, faith, paranormal, prepping, crunchy goodness. His March 24 podcast description of the morning ritual of making coffee with cream had me laughing and weeping as I was driving down the road today.
Fr. Anthony's show is one-of-a-kind: an eclectic and endearingly goofy romp through Orthodox life, theology, current events, the paranormal, politics, and philosophy that should appeal to the geeky, crunchy, socially concerned, and philosophically-minded subset of American Orthodoxy. Highly recommended.
I consider myself blessed to finally have found these podcasts. After searching for various eastern orthodox commentaries (many of which are very good) I've found these scholarly productions to have a nice variety of topics and a refreshing format which discusses complex orthodox perspectives on modern American life. In doing so Fr. Anthony provides new insight to living our Eastern Orthodox faith in our Western world. AND he's got a great sense of humor too!
Not only is Father Anthony's podcast informative and well presented, but it is also edifying. Father Anthony does not only proclaim the word of God in an Orthodox fashion but presents it in such a way that is easy enough for beginners to grasp, but is deep enough for the serious seeker. Further, Father deals with some of the most seminal contemporary issues and does so from a spiritual Orthodox Christian perspective. His commentaries on the weekly Gospel lesson are brief, yet thorough where there aren’t many words wasted on fluff. Rather his presentation is short and to the point keeping the listener engaged from beginning to end. Further, Father Anthony’s experience in the military gives his political commentary an interesting perspective. All that coupled with Father’s wonderful sense of humor make for one great podcast. In fact his has quickly become my favorite Orthodox Christian podcast on the web.
