I’ve been listening to Len’s podcast for years now. It’s always an interesting show, and his interviewing skills have only gotten better. In particular, his most recent interview with James McQuivey is just excellent. Mr. McQuivey has always been one of my favorite guests on Len’s podcast, but this last interview may be my favorite. Well worth your time.
Len has let his politics take over his podcast at this point. His leftist agenda seems to be leaking into what was once a great podcast about kindles and books. Now he has been talking about the climate change hoax agenda and the leftist propaganda rag the Washington post is one of more recent favorite topics . I’ll keep giving him a chance to get back to kindles but beware that even something so neutral as a podcast about ebooks has suddenly become leftist propaganda. It’s dirty shame. I used to love the info he shared. It was the one place I used to come to escape propaganda Not anymore.
I've been listening for a few years. Len has an avid curiousity about Amazon, the Kindle, ebooks and personal electronics, in general. This isn't a very 'techie' podcast. Len makes the subject very approachable. Good interviews. I also find Len's voice very pleasant to listen to. It may be a personal peeve, but if I can't abide the speaker's voice, I find it very hard to listen to the podcast, even if I'm very interested in the subject! Keep up the good work.
I can't wait for this podcast each week, and am so sad when it's over. Great info about the Kindle and e-reading, but much, much more. Outstanding interviews with interesting people each week, not just about Kindle and Amazon, but reading in general and topics beyond. pertinent to the Kindle and e-books in general. He's been doing this for years, and it not only stays fresh, but just gets better and better.- Kes Woodward
I have been listening to the podcast since the beginning. it is always full of new and interesting things about kindles. I love to hear about the new products coming out for ereaders and the directions authors and publishers are going. Len keeps up well informed!
I have been listening to this podcast for several years. Len keeps it fresh with the latest in Kindle, Kindle Apps and Amazon Fire information. He also keeps listeners updated on the latest ebook reader hardware from other manufacturers. Software updates and tips forl Amazon reader devices are also covered.
But there is more; Len keeps his ear to the ground on all issues related to ebooks in his News section. There is an interview almost every week with someone in the book industry, an innovator in related software or online tools, book authors or reviewers.
Important to me: Len keeps it clean and personable. Listening to this podcast is like sitting down for a conversation with Len every week.
Highly recommended!
Len Edgely is THE authority on Kindle E-readers.....among other things. I have been listening to this podcast since Kindle I....and I was an EARLY adopter. This is also the ONLY podcast I listen to. Len is not only engaging, he knows it all...and you will too...as it happens with the kindle. I just created my first collection (Peter Robinson's DCI Alan Banks books) as as result of his tip that MYCD now has this capability. Silva is next......Thanks, Len...for all you do!
I have been devoted listener to this podcast since the very first episode. If you love books, especially reading them on an e-ink Kindle, then you must listen to this podcast. Len Edgerly does a terrific job each week in bringing together the latest news, tech tips, and interesting guests. He is very devoted to his podcast and never misses a week. Listening to his Friday podcast is my favorite way to kick off the weekend!
This is the only podcast that I listen to regularly. I always learn something new about the Kindle, about Amazon, about publishing and generally about books. I highly recommend this podcast!
This is one of the best podcasts going! Len does a great job giving us the news that affects e-reading, with new readers and tech covered, etc (and all things Amazon) along with wonderful interviews with authors and writers. Keep abreast of the e-reading world and pick up some new books and titles. Guests have included Jeff Bezos (twice!), Hugh Howey and many more. Don't miss this podcast!
Every Friday I get my Kindle Chronicles podcast from Len Edgerly. Always has the latest info on the Kindle and Amazon. If you read books on your Kindle, this 44 minute weekly podcast is a must. 😎
Glen is unabashedly a fan boy of all things Amazon. His passion shows and he podcasts with heart. He does his homework and only broadcasts quality programs. I am grateful for this pleasant and informative effort.
I have been listenting to TKC for nearly 5 years now and it remains my favorite podcast because of its regular format and valuable tips on how to use the Kindle and related devices. It has also served as a guide to books and allowed me to expand my reading - I am not a science fiction guy but I read "The Martian" because of the interview with Andy Weir and because I found it on sale via "Book Gorilla", another TKC recommendation. The production values and content are equivalent to a large-scale production and I still look forward to every episode.
Great show for those who love reading, especially those who love reading on a Kindle device. Len brings enthusiasm and a unique perspective to each informative episode. He’s my “go to” source for reviews of any new Kindle device and I anxiously await each new episode.
This is the best podcast about the Kindle and related things happening at Apple. The host is very bright and a professional journalist who respects his listeners and his guests. Highly recommended.
Although it is called the Kindle Chronicles, Len Edgerly takes the time for segments on Amazon's other products, such as the Fire and the Echo. He gives a tech tip each week, discusses the latest news, and interviews a person. The interviewee can be an Amazon official, a business owner who provides a service for the Kindle, even a member of his audience.
The Kindle Chronicles is not a highly polished production, but it is professionally put together, and Len has a fine speaking voice along the lines of a more melodic Garrison Keillor. His opinions are his own. When Amazon released the Fire phone, he confessed his ambivilence about the product, pointed out its strengths and weaknesses, and from week to week, you can hear his struggles and successes with it. He's been far more positive about the Echo, and even though I have no plans to buy one, I'm fascinated to experience it through him.
I have always had an interest in the publishing world and the eBook revolution as well. When I first started listening a couple of years ago I remember thinking that there was no way this podcast would last as how much really was there to say about the Kindle?
Here is why this is great: consistent format, interesting guests, and Len keeps things moving unlike many other podcasts which ramble on for hours. Also it helps that he is so well spoken, with a great radio voice. Well done.
Anyone who owns a Kindle e-reader or a Kindle Fire should subscribe to this podcast. Lots of great information and very up-to-date on the lastest happenings at Amazon. Thank's Len!
Out of all of the many different podcasts I listen to, this is the only one I know exactly what day of the week the new episode comes out and eagerly look forward to it every week!
In reading a few of the more recent reviews, I have to say I disagree with the one where the reviewer complained because Len talks about iPad as well as the Kindle. I think it’s good to get comparisons between Kindle and other devices people may be using for reading. I am a Kindle lover and a gadget geek and I would imagine many other Kindle lovers might be as well. In addition to my Kindle (which is my favorite for reading), I also have an iPad and other devices. I hope Len continues to include discussions of all devices that pertain to e-reading. We all know that Kindle is the primary focus of this podcast.
Keep up the great work Len, and thanks for all the time you devote to this podcast. It is greatly appreciated!
I am a podcast aficionado, and listen to a wide variety of podcasts. This is the one I will stop and listen to as soon as it arrives, every week. Always informative, always has great information, wonderful interviews, consistently good sound quality, up-to-date news stories regarding e-readers, tablets, Kindles, publishing, e-books. Len has a very nice voice, makes it easy to listen, and puts together a professional-quality podcast on time every week.
One of my favorite podcasts, and I subscribe to more than 60. Len's background as a reporter shines through during his interviews, which are professional and thorough. He has a knack for finding the best ebook news of the week and his take on the news is always balanced. The tech tips are useful and easy to follow. As the teacher in A Christmas Story wrote on the blackboard, A++++++++++++
Have been listening to this since I bought my first Kindle (2nd generation) and still enjoy it weekly even tho I read most books on my iPad mini these days. Do still enjoy my Kindle touch as well. Lots of great interviews and technical info.
Len's love of gadgets, (kindle focused of course), as well as his interest in the digital book world makes his podcast shine. Great interviews and great insight into where we are at and where we are heading.
I look forward to Mr. Edgerly's weekly podcast. His interviews with people who are informed about e-print matters pull me in every time. Thanks very much for the podcast, Mr. E.
Len Edgerly does a great job of covering Kindle news, tips and interviews with Kindle-related journalists and enthusiasts. The podcast is well produced and always interesting.
Very informative, not too long and full of content. I love my Kindle (keyboard) and found out about this podcast from a blog I subscribe to on my Kindle. It was well worth listening to and has interesting content and interviews.
TKC is a great Kindle-centric podcast that delves into the world of ereaders. From authors to publishers to readers, Len's interviews and tech tips are grest to hear every week. If you own a Kindle, or any other ereader for that matter, TKC is a must-subscribe.
I got my Kindle for Christmas and started listening a couple weeks before. I love the interviews, but I do wish there were more news and tips instead. But, overall, I look forward to Friday's that much more!
-Hunter
The Kindle Chronicles is a gateway drug into other podcasts and blogs regarding the Kindle and ereaders in general. If you're a new Kindle owner or want to learn more about ebooks / ereaders start here.
Just started listening to this podcast and it is great. I don't have a kindle yet but am planning to get a kindle 3. Keep up the great work!!!
The interviews are the best part of the show.
From a listener in Anchorage, Alaska
I started listening not long after I purchased my Kindle, and had no idea how much I would look forward to each new episode. Len covers news, content, technical info, and listener responses, but the heart of the show is the interview portion. He is a terrifically thoughtful and agile interviewer, exploring the week's topic with a singular warmth and flexibility of thought. I love my Kindle and *really* care about reading, and I'm grateful for the kindred spirits who join the conversations at The Kindle Chronicles!
Indispensable if you own a kindle. Congrats on your 100th episode. BTW, I loved both special guests, at ep 100, your wife AND the dog. My dogs eventually participate at my podcasts too... ;-)
Greetings from Brazil!
I used to enjoy listening to this podcast, however it has become more about the IPad then to do with the Kindle. I have no interest in the IPad. The past few episodes have been all about the IPad, if it was not just the IPad then it was the Kindle being compared to the IPad. It is a shame as this was a very good and informative podcast before. At this point I have had to fast forward through most of it. I will give it a couple more episodes to see if it will come back to its former glory if not then I will be unsubscribing from it. Just be aware at this time if you are looking for something that is truly about the Kindle it's not this one.
What a great podcast. Informative?... yes... but so much more. It's just a great 45 minutes to an hour of interesting news, helpful tips, and good discussion. It is truly like being a fly on the wall for those discussions you wish you could be a part of. Thoughtful and intelligent dialogue about literature and technology. Who knew that the two weren't mutually exclusive?!
Thanks Len!
How glad I am that I found the Kindle Chronicles about a week after I got my Kindle last year! Len does a superb job of inverviewing people, providing tips, and connecting listeners to the other fantastic Kindle resources around. I was up to speed in no time, and I still view the Kindle Chronicles as my gateway to great Kindle information and discussions.
Len Edgerly's "The Kindle Chronicles" podcast is an eclectic mix of both topics and interviewees. While he is a self-identified "Kindle evangelist," Mr. Edgerly has had a number of guests who are not quite as favorable toward the device, and has interviewed these individuals in a neutral manner, eliciting their remarks without being judgmental or attempting to proselytize. His high level of professional preparation is reflected in a track record of (as of this posting) 83 consecutive weekly podcasts, and counting. Finally, I am most impressed with Mr. Edgerly’s ability to present interesting and educational information about the Kindle and other e-reading related subjects in a way that is both pleasant to listen to and accessible to individuals at all levels of technical expertise. If you’re looking for a podcast that is aesthetically satisfying, informative, and very ably delivered, “The Kindle Chronicles” should fill the bill.
I'm a longtime enthusiastic listener of this podcast. Len Edgerly's soft-voiced, intelligent and articulate tips, news and interviews are always informative and entertaining. Must hear listening for anyone considering the purchase of an e-reader as well as the community of Kindle owners. Commentary by listeners adds another useful dimension for those interested in reading electronic books.
This podcast is for anyone interested in ereaders (not only Kindles are covered). The information is very useful and varied as to topic. Len's tone is very friendly and he is very responsive to feedback/questions. The interviews cover many topics of interest, are often very timely and always balanced. I look forward each week to hearing what Len has to say.
I started listening to Len's podcast last Spring to find out more about the e-book phenomenon. His pleasant, conversational tone has led me to a lot of great information about e-readers of course, but more about reading and books as well. For example: an in-depth interview with Nicholson Baker about e-readers...what a treat! If you like literature, or the business of literature, this podcast is ear-candy.
Len does a great job providing the latest news concerning the Kindle. He brings in a wide variety of guests each week that know of the Kindle and books.
This is a great podcast for kindle owners and people who are interested in ebooks in general. I look forward to this podcast every friday and just cant wait to listen. Len does a wonderful job on keeping me up to date on kindle/ebook news and tips. The weekly interviews to me are always interesting. I recomend at least downloading a show, after that you will be hooked!
it's on the Chronicles. Simply the best compilation of news, tips and chatter about the kindle and kindle-related topics. Thanks, Len, for all your work putting this gem together every week!
I have been flirting with buying a Kindle for the last year and finally made the plunge for this Holiday Season. As I have been getting the lay of the land in the e-Reader space, this podcast has been invaluable. Len always has very interesting guests, and he is a good interviewer. It feels like a conversation you desperately want to be part of yourself. I have enjoyed listening to this every week even if all I've had is Kindle for my iPhone and PC. Now that I will have the real Kindle, I'm even more excited to re-listen and go back over show notes for tips. I love that Len covers the overall e-Reader space up front, and also adds Kindle specific content and tech tips towards the end.
I have been listening to this podcast from it beginnings and it is the one I never miss. Len Edgerly has a wonderful speaking voice and is an insightful and interesting interviewer. Week after week he finds interesting people to interveiw. And he shares my love for the Kindle, a device I would never be without.
