Republic Forces Radio Network is a well-produced podcast. I appreciate getting a balanced, adult viewpoint on The Clone Wars series. Many reviewers have commented that the podcast is "too negative" and that the reviewers need to be more lighthearted. To this, I have two responses. First of all, just because it's a kids show, doesn't mean that we can't criticize it. There are animated television shows aimed at both children and adults who do a better job of balancing jokes, fun, and interesting plots and characterization than this show does... it's ok to point that out. This show is coming from the perspective of an audience that's already familiar with the Star Wars universe and it assumes that listeners have that familiarity too. For me, this is helpful - I want a critical, adult perspective. Secondly, in the second season I do believe the negativity has toned down somewhat. Partly because the show is just better this season and partly because they have reworked the format of the show, bringing in actor interviews and using Jerry as a moderator. Most of my own criticisms of the show would have to do with the fact that it is recorded live. Discussions of continuity sometimes aren't as in depth as they might have been because people are speaking off the cuff, for example. However, the live panel nature is also part of the charm - many TV podcasts become so formulaic and really depend on the charisma of the hosts - here, you're getting fresh perspectives every week! All in all good show and vastly improved in the second season.
