The reviews I’ve read are all asking uncle Jyti come back. Seems to me he has provided me with so much joy and happiness during Covid darkness. Thanks uncle John you are so awesome and I prayed for your mom and you thanks again
Uncle John plays some “I never heard this before!” as well as, “Oh, this is my favorite!”
In his show, he dives in to explore the rarities (but doesn’t gloss over) with the right amount of tracks to get the feel of the show without just playing an entire set. His observations are insightful as he finds context, references historic happenstance, and maintains theme throughout his show.
Guest appearances, alternate versions, as well as the staples.
I listen to each new week’s show and am constantly enlightened and surprised, even after years of listening to his show!
Been listening to this podcast since it was in the 100-200 range episode wise. Uncle John is like a favorite uncle queing up the best GD while telling his stories. I like when psychedelic Rick comes in on the end with his trademark "who ho". Good dudes who know their stuff.
I have to say I have listened to quite a few Dead Pods and I love your podcast. I think the best thing is that your selections are truly entertaining- great sound, great selections. Wish I lived in the Northeast to catch some of the local shows as well. But NorCal has some good grooves for sure too.
John does a great job of putting certain cuts on the show. Getting on the bus in the early 90s I havent looked back since. He sometimes pulls songs off of historic shows or certain CDs but all really good though. He sometimes has other jam artists on which sometimes I can take it or leave it.
I really enjoyed listening to alphabetical Dead awhile back. I love discovering new tunes that GD did that I never knew about. An amazing version of Big Boy Pete, Bobbys voice is echoey almost like they performed in a High School arena. lol I dont care it sounds amazing and I love it.
Keep up the good work Uncle John! The music never stops! NFA I still miss Jerry too.
Uncle John does a fantastic job bringing the GD heat straight to my earlobes. He mixes it up between choice dead cuts and side project jems, and isn't afraid to bring some local flair into the mix (he's got a good ear for talented folks who keep the spirit alive.)
Keep on truckin to this bad boy right here!

I have been listening to Uncle John a long time it seems. I always listen to him and Psycadelic Rick at the end of my day on Fridays just to get my weekend off right. He always plays the best and give awesome little side notes about the band.
I love to listen to Dead Air with Uncle John for a long time. He has gems from the archives, the best from the glory days as well as modern jams from the surviving members of today. I highly recommend you give him a listen.
When my collection gets old, I listen to Dead Air. For hours. Uncle John plays the hottest shows and show selections, with minimal interruption. I highly recommend it. Review by Lora
This is such a great podcast. I try to catch the show live, but when I miss it I can always get it here. Great music, interviews, all around a fantastic show!
The music is great.. the interviews are fun... what isn't there to love? My week isn't complete until I've gotten the latest podcast of this show so that I can listen and re-listen!
