The Archers Omnibus

Reviews For The Archers Omnibus

Just discovered this wonderful series. Read a lot about it and love listening. What a fun break from the usual, and yet things to think about. Were it possible, I’d start from the very beginning, decades ago….however, starting now is fine too!
I don’t agree with the reviews you list. I think the episodes since CV-19 are dreadful, the wandering of demented minds. You would be better to continue to write as if CV hadn’t happened in Ambridge. In some peculiar way, it would be comforting to hear that at least somewhere life was the old normal.
This just get me though the week right now, thank you for all the hard work you do in bring this to me and everyone else who follows this brilliant drama. You are awesome to bring this just the way it should be, just right. You guys and girls rock!
We’ve been listening for a year. Saturday mornings. It is exactly the right thing for the times we are in. Thank you very much.
Spending time each week with these wonderful characters acted so well by a great cast makes you feel like you’re a part of the fictional country village of Ambridge. Jump onboard — you’ll soon figure out who is who and what’s going on.
I’ve been listening for years and, now I live in California, I find it more enjoyable than ever. Here’s to another 60 years!
I love catching up with the adventures of the Ambridge families, although there are plotlines I'm not fond of. What frustrates me is that only the last four episodes are available on the feed, so if you miss one for some reason and aren't caught up, you can't catch up, you just have to get on with it. Fortunately, the soap-opera nature of the storylines makes it relatively easy to get back into things.
Not sure there is much I can add after 60+ years on the air. As a yank who grew up in England it's nice to have these familiar ties to my childhood. (Though I never listened as a kid, read the Beano instead!) It's a lovely 15 mins escape to a work where, though people aren't perfect, they try to do the right thing. The real world could learn a thing or two from this show.
Great show great app
One thing I really loved was the option to go back 15 sec when I missed something. Now you’ve only offered to go forward 15 seconds. Why? I personally hate updates that totally change what’s working just fine. Making everything different doesn’t mean everything is better. I liked things the way they were.
I can't believe how much I miss this show if I can't get my weekly download.
I have lived in the us for the past 10years and like other reviewers grew up with the Archers. I love the Beeb podcasts and listen to others like womens hour something I never listened to back home. They make such easy listening, keep you up to speed on uk issues. Keep them going
What a wonderful way to be able to have my weekly 'fix' of The Archers' Omnibus I remember when it all started way back in the early 50's and have followed the story ever since! Moved to the US at the beginning of this year and look forward to downloading the new podcast each week to enjoy my little bit of home. Long may it continue.
I have grown up with the Archers and have listened for decades! When I moved to the States I wasn't sure how I would cope without my weekly omnibus fix. Can't tell you how happy I am to be able to get this podcast. A life saver!!
As a British expat I love to keep up with the happenings in Ambridge. Now that I can download to my phone as a podcast I never miss an episode. Thank you Auntie Beeb!
It reminds me of my family in South-East England. Rule Britannia; Britannia Rules The World (God Save The Queen)
Love the omnibus format. One simple download for a whole week.
Mucheasier to download and store than the episodes
