I grew up watching you and have enjoyed this podcast. you are amazing, thoughtful, REAL, funny and most importantly stand in defiance of the tangerine terror.
Thank you for all the great content over the years, and thank you for the narrations over the past few weeks! This quality entertainment has been helping my isolation. Thank you so much for being such a wonderful human!
When I recently refreshed my Podcasts and saw a new release on Radio Free Burrito, I was super excited. That grew to full on joy when I saw it was “The Invisible Man” by H. G. Wells.
About a day or two before this performance was released, my wife suggested we watch one of the many film versions of The Invisible Man. My response was “OK, but the original book is quite amazing.” True to form,
Mr. Wheaton delivers a rich and vibrant opening to this classic tale. The characters, although described by Wells, are brought to life by Wil in a way that it seems as if they could materialize in front of me (or perhaps behind) at any moment.
Keep up the great work/fun!
I’m looking forward to hearing what comes next!!
Wheaton is so open about everything in his mind, heart and life. He’s a unique talent and a unique individual; you almost wish he was a personal friend.
Keep the podcasts coming, Mr. Wheaton.
It truly is a treat to have Wil Wheaton back, from his humor and honesty, to just being so good at story telling that I’d even listen to him read me a tax audit notice 👍
Radio Free Burrito is hosted by Wil Wheaton. He’s a gifted speaker and actor. He is always thoughtful and sincere. Each episode sounds like a friend telling something cool they’ve learned or sharing a song or story. Wheaton’s never overanimated. He doesn’t need you to be shocked or thrilled or think he’s hilarious. He’s just got something cool to share with you each time RFB comes out.
Hey will,
I hope you do more, I enjoy the unplanned podcast. I love randomness. Tampa,Florida reaching out telling you aren’t just talking to yourself,
I am listening! Just found your newest episodes. Really enjoy hearing you are feeling more free and being more creative. Please do more podcasts. I enjoy hearing what you are up to, especially the audiobooks which you do a fantastic job reading!!
Wil,
Found you on iTunes after listening to your TV Crimes podcast. Just wanted to say thank you for making my 1 1/2 hour commute to work everyday more enjoyable. The family and I love you on “Tabletop” and Big Bang Theory. Keep the podcasts coming I will be listening. Again, thank you!
Jason
Your episode 51 was the first one I’ve listened too but I loved it. Way to go winging it! (Sort of?) I really appreciate what you shared this episode and It’s inspiring, especially about speaking up for those you care about. Look forward to listing to more and what ever comes next!
I love the music and the stories.
Host Wil Wheaton talks openly about his life including the highs and lows. From his acting career to his passion for tabletop gaming, to politics and even his struggles with depression and anxiety.
His honesty has helped me in my battle with depression and I really appreciate his candidness.
After following Wil on Instagram and liking all his bedhead pics and quirky pics with his wife, I knew that I needed more. I started listening to Radio Free Burrito and I am addicted 3 podcasts in. He is real, raw, emotional, and manages to keep it all flowing with a good anecdote or a peek into his music library. I’ve always loved this man, since he was in the movies in the way back, since he was Wesley, and the person he is now is no disappointment. Thanks Wil, it’s good to know that there are commiserating hearts out there, your plea for good mental health is inspiring. I hope you always find the time to share your thoughts with us nerds.
Thanks for your endeavor! The very least I can do is leave you a review. Really like the ukuleles! You have really cool friends Wil. You are a lucky man. Especially if they stick around! I enjoyed your family history. Also got a bit of LA history to boot. Got to say, I did a happy dance when I got the notification for another RFB! I hope you are feeling better these days! Love you long time! 💗😘
Long time fan, first time reviewer.
This episode really resonated with me.
I may have gotten overly excited about the possibility of new “TV Crimes” episodes.
Thanks for inspiring me. I want to find those things that make me happy, and not be so overwhelmed. :)
Writing in as suggested to let you know I’m here and listening. It’s always a joyous day when I see a new update in one of the medium I follow but especially when it’s here. You always have some genuinely good thing worth hearing to talk about that is equally pleasing to hear. Depression and anxiety are something I’ve struggled with a large portion of my life but somehow never found the time to fix. At the very least being able to experience that I’m not alone in this with the possibility of even being able to get treatment helps spur me forward. Thank you as always for being a positive beacon and a fabulous example of what joy can be.
Writing in as instructed. My wife Anne is kind of your cousin. I work in the music biz. Aunt D knows us. Visited with you a few times. I enjoy your podcasts. Don’t agree with everything you say, but I don’t think that is your wish. I always find your podcasts interesting, and I think that is your hope.
Your story on River was very powerful. I have many friends who went to rehab, and then later didn’t make it. I ask myself some of the questions you posed every day.
Still out here listening for the past 4 years, I have been recommending to my coworkers because we live in cube cities and all wear our headphones so not to disturb others. I love the different style you talk about and the oldies. Keep it up and keep making stuff. Myself enjoy your art. Thanks from Portland.
I'm inspired by Wil's openness and honesty. I came here from TV Crimes, and while he is reliably funny, he is also reliably thoughtful. In listening to this, I want to encourage Wil to keep working, to know he is appreciated, that what he does has great value; and in seeing my own struggles in Wil I am able to be a bit more open and honest with myself.
So yeah. Check this out. And Wil, if you ever read this- please, keeping doing what you do. It's reaching people. It's helping people.
It’s like the listening to the last man on an empty spaceship adrift in the universe. With only access to a computer loaded with the latest TV dramas, a microphone, and an endless supply of burritos, this is exactly the kind of eccentric, rambling audio recording I would expect from this scenario. Wildly entertaining and about nothing in particular. Oddly comforting. Try the carne asada. It’s great.
I look forward to every episode of RFB. Wil offers an interesting mix of music I've never heard and topics on his mind. If you're familiar with Wil's other work and his internet presence, you already know what to expect. RFB always feels like a catch up with an old friend with a brilliant music collection. <3
I enjoy this podcast, and to be true, I really enjoy monologue type things anyway so I'm not surprised. If you think geek, and you've ever felt awkward, and you seek commiseration with a like-minded individual, Wil's got your back, or shoulder to cry on. :) Good stuff! Cheers!
I cannot recommend this highly enough. It's so cool hearing Wil's stories & he almost always introduces me to new music each episode. Not all is my thing but it's always interesting to know it exists.
BTW-if you get to his Adam West tribute..... Yeah. Have tissues on hand, as your allergies will act up about then.
Wil is awesome! I am just old enough to have been a big fan in the 80's(I have Stand By Me pretty much memorized and my dad turned me into a Trekkie a long time ago) and decided to follow him recently on Twitter where I discovered his blog and this podcast. I love it because Wil combines nerdiness, nostalgia for the pre-internet days, a great mix of music, and most of all his honesty about life. If you're a fan of Wil or even if you're just a regular nerd, you will love this. Listen! :)
What I like most about Wil's podcast is that it is genuinely from the heart. If I were lucky enough to meet him and share a cup of coffee or beer, I'm convinced the conversation would be just like this. He doesn't pretend to be someone he isn't, and that is one of the reasons he is such an awesome celebrity.
Overwhelmed by this reading of the case of Elissa Lam. I had seen the video and, with my love of the unexplained, looked forward to the spooky goodies to come. And I was pleasantly satisfied, especially with the description of the video. My heart rate accelerating with the telling, my mind's eye combining the memory of the video with the artful description. As the story progressed, I found myself wanting to share the mysteries and speculations. But as I continued listening, and with Wil's voice carrying me along, I was brought back to reality and confronted with the tragedy of mental illness. Having a cousin, who recently committed suicide, I was reminded of how, in order to comprehend what happened, I found myself looking for explanations, no matter how outlandish. Though this podcast did not end where I thought it would, I felt very satisfied and appreciated the sharing. Thanks Wil Wheaton.
After listening to Wil at Rose City Comic Con last year, I made sure to subscribe to his podcast. His stories are interesting and I love all the reality of stuff he goes through - just like the rest of us. I find him to insightful with mental health issues, which can be som helpful to others. His humor is fantastic. Always looking axiously forward to the next podcast.
I have been procrastinating on listening to this podcast! Now I'm a junkie for Wheaton content! Thank you for all the hard work you put into this podcast! I love table top too! I highly recommend that content If you guys are interested!
If you like Wil Wheaton like I do, then you'll love this podcast. It's a great look into his mind and inner workings, but if you're also like me, you'll see a lot of similarities in how he thinks with yourself, and you can learn from his own personal journey. Plus it's just funny and entertaining. :)
Just listened to the Halloween episode about the Cecil Hotel and it was great. Awesome ambience thanks to the music, brilliant narration by Wil, and a great message with which to wrap up the installment. I look forward to each and every episode. Can't wait for the next one!
This is one of the few podcasts that is worth keeping subscribed. This is true even though it doesn't have a regular schedule. When Wil does post episodes it is a happy surprise. The recent Halloween themed episode about the Cecil hotel was well done. It felt a bit like lore but had a characteristic style that only Wil Wheaton can pull off. You need to give it a listen. Keep being awesome Wil.
Wil is unapologetically genuine and his podcast is a refreshing mix of emotions and topics. It's encouraging to know that such a thoughtful guy has a large audience and he uses his fame to do and discuss whatever he's passionate about this week, which often happens to result in thought-provoking explanations and musings. I know it doesn't mean much these days, but I truly feel that, factors permitting, we'd be good friends. Plus Anne. She seems wonderful and hilarious and I'm glad she and Wil have each other and their family. Listen to Wil's podcast. He is one hoopy frood.
