The Majority Report with Sam Seder

Reviews For The Majority Report with Sam Seder

Vigland is such an ideologue her opinions are both clueless and worthless!
I recently started paying more attention to politics and Sam, Emma and the gang are my go to along with a few others. This is a deep dive on what’s going on. The hits with some B sides.
If you hate intelligent discourse, you cringe at good faith dialectic, your attention span is too short to listen to nuance or expertise, and you’re the sort who shows your approval through whoops and snaps, this is the podcast for you. Designed to regurgitate tired platitudes that signal allegiance to the tribe rather than explore ideas beyond the Overton window of the ingroup for which the hosts are constantly waving their flags, the Majority Report comes complete with a predictable body of talking points that lack depth or any understanding of the issues being discussed. Understanding isn’t necessary when your objective is to deliver laugh lines to please a crowd of what must be fanatic high schoolers. Most of us older than high-school age refrain from forming strong opinions on things we don’t understand. The cast of the Majority Report do not share this reservation. They are emboldened by high school level rhetoric, by faith claims that supplant reality, by lazy thinking and the inability to engage seriously with important ideas. I haven’t seen anyone so oblivious to their own cluelessness since Malcolm Gladwell’s appearance in two Munk debates. The Majority Report exudes the same character as conservative talk radio, in both the delivery of its hosts and in the complexity of their thought. The show is great for fans of thought-terminating cliches, Motte and Baileys, idioms of non-argument, intimations of absurdity, and hosts who spend more time practicing their tonal inflection than developing substantive knowledge about anything. The final nail here is that Sam has explicitly stated that lying for the tribe and ideological purity is more important than telling the truth. The show’s listeners have to be a gullible, thoughtless sort.
Thank you for covering the news in such an informative and entertaining way. Wherever I am, I always know I can get back in touch and hear the latest analysis from Sam, Emma, and friends. Growing up conservative, I was deprived of intelligent, progressive positions and understandings of the world around me. Sam brings such a wealth of knowledge and experience, and Emma is well attuned to the values and voices of modern progressives. Once a Trump voter, now DSA member and Harris 24 voter. Thank you, Majority Report.
Love the show but I can hardly hear the news w that music in background. I either avoid listenin or ffwd past the music. Can u just change the intro n the music. It’s doooooo old n irritating now.
The most informative political show in the known universe
Thursdays are the best IMO!
How does anyone take these people seriously? Their coverage of the Cass report, for example, is laughable - an example of how they push agendas as opposed to information. They’re still smearing Kenneth Zucked after his views and practices have been vindicated in court when he won his wrongful dismissal lawsuit. The hosts are silly and smug enough that you can’t really take them seriously so I guess it doesn’t really matter. Don’t waste your time.
Come on Sam, biden has never been a fan of bibi! And i m pretty sure you dont believe biden has no care for the Palestinians. Not a fair assessment Ive been listening since air America days Whats the point of trying to create that kind of space on the left. Not a real place of disagreement
The Majority Report has consistently been on the right side of history for 20 years now. Seder, Emma, Matt Lech, Bradley, Matt Bender & Brandon (as well as the reoccurring guests like Heather Digby, Ryan Grim, David Dayan, & Mathew Film guy) all bring informed commentary with a slice of humor that makes both daily & globally relevant news a lil’ easier to swallow. There’s no better place for in-depth interviews with doctors, writers, professors, lawyers and dozens of other experts in their fields. If you’re not listening to MR you’re missing out.
Really enjoyed your conversation regarding techno feudalism with Ricardo Montauban today!!! 🦨
Been listening to Sam since Air America. Majority Report is informative and fun! And Emma is such a great co-host!
I have been listening for years and years and continue to love the direction that Seder is steering this leftist ship.
Decent commentary on current affairs from a left perspective. It’s infotainment (by their own admission) so don’t expect the London Review of Books but it’s good for what it is. This sounds damning with faint praise but it really is good.
Take truth and turn it on its head and you have this show
Subscribed on YouTube too, but found out by paying attention to John Iadarola’s outro that you can rate Apple Podcasts, and you guys are deserving of 5 stars. I'm just here for the soy; thank you, may I have another? My only critique is that you guys have eased up on Steven Crowder and Tim Pool; when they come up, you guys really need to destroy them more. Sam, it’s time you crash Tim’s party, too, as an uninvited guest. The world could use that.
Sam and Emma have experts come on and discuss issues that actually impact our lives. They are well-informed and have great senses of humor despite the darkness humanity faces. Most importantly, they focus on what can be done to solve these problems. I highly recommend this show and listen to it every possible day.
Good reporting
A podcast for those who believe that to disagree with them politically is to be either a fascist or a white supremacist.
Tucker Carlson for leftists.
Absolutely wonderful to listen to history, politics, economics and up to date social commentary fit together at instant recall speeds while taking all comers Gish galloping into that knowledge minefield left limping back to the original and unsupported points they tried to run from. Bravo folks, King of run on sentences.
Look elsewhere
Deeply, deeply (deeply) unimpressive thinkers.
Really dishonest segment with Jessie Single. The hosts seem so confident but on knowing so little about the topic.
Decent enough progressive group think sessions……until they cover a topic/event you are well versed in; revealing their sentiment over details approach to reporting.

Listening to you guys roast Giuliani was the highlight of my week. And that laugh I’m the background! So genuine. Please don’t ever stop what you’re doing. I love this show. - Niles
Wish Sam Seder formed clear statements and questions. So many important topics, guests and urgencies but the pressured, sharp rambles and stumbles cause me to click off.

Thanks for pushing back on Grin’s l highly questionable ab leak takes. It’s easy to take on crazies and political rivals but not so much with otherwise friendly voices. First time listening and it won’t be the last.
my daily news and politics podcast excellent analysis of everything politics, history, etc
A daily deep dive into a topic that is in the news followed by a second half that is fun and more of a loose format with live call ins. An absolute must hear/watch for anyone who wants politics and news in a refreshing format!
I spent years listening to these Commies before realizing they lie about everything. Don’t fall for it. They are wrong about everything from economics, Marxism, elections, crime rates, etc

Awful show
Emma has compromised the quality of the show.
The Tim Heidecker interview was hilarious! Love this show!
Emma Vigeland is absolutely wonderful as cohost, she is so funny and smart, I hope she starts getting more recognition from fans of MR!!
No one beats Sam and friends analyzing the personalities and egos responsible for our current political environment.
Hey Sam, I cannot listen to your show as you utter “um” and “er” way too much. Tried to listen to Thur. show and you literally said “um” over a half dozen times in just the span of the minute and a half for the sponsor plug for Blinkist. This might seem minor, but I have had to unfollow show because of this. Just something to keep in mind. Thanks Nathaniel
I love the MR crew. Smart, measured and fearless
this is the most insightful, most educational, perfect balance of humor & serious. this is the greatest daily political & current events podcast. sam seder is a giant.
Always funny but also uniquely insightful. Sam and company are masters of skewering the idiot right and their vapid followers and presenting progressive policies as in a compelling, persuasive manner.
Accessible , great interviews, entertaining. Everything I need at work and everything I need to sound smart to my friends
It’s bad enough to have lost michael brooks but it was made worse by the addition of Emma vigeland. Anymore I can only stand to listen when she’s out sick
What’s with the Sam Harris hate? It makes me think less of Sam as he’s either picking a fight for clicks and visibility or Harris’ brilliant perspective on the world is just over his head. Either way, it’s not a good look.
