Reviews For Stories from the Borders of Sleep

It’s like getting surprise flowers or gift in the mail
This podcast has helped me through many a difficult time. It lulls me to sleep in a beautiful way when too many stressful things are attacking my concentration and conciseness. I can always count on Seymour's southing voice and imaginative dream scape to help guide my nights sleep
Mr. Jacklin has an incredible imagination and a gift for storytelling! This podcast is lovely, and I can’t wait for more episodes!!😊
I love the host’s reading voice and the fairytale quality of the narration. The sound design is relaxing, which really helps when I am at work and under stress. Thanks for sharing such imaginative and quality tales!
I love this podcast. The stories are beautifully written and beautifully read. I imagine wonderful to fall asleep to, but I want to know what happens, so I stay up to listen to them through. Easy listening that holds up to musings about symbolism and message. Responsible storytelling, which I mean to say both wholesome and compelling. I’ve been listening for a long while. It was fun to see a new episode appear. Thank you, Seymour Jacklin!
It’s good but it’s sad that he is not posting so much 😱 Ps:U still cool 👍🏻🗿
I so love your stories! So grateful for your talent and your willingness to share these. Excellent, relaxing, and unique. Thank you!
I only just discovered this podcast. Are we going to see more from Seymour Jacklin? Amazing word smithing!!!!
I have listed to some of the stories 5 or more times. He has a wonderful imagination!
Boi make ‘em longer! And post more often! *inhale* BOI
I absolutely adore this show and recommend it to anyone who likes to listen to stories as they drift to sleep. The stories are wonderfully written and the host’s voice is like warm honey poured in front of a beautiful sunset. This is one of my favorite podcasts ever made. PS If you like Myths and Legends and Lore, you’ll love this show!
I love your voice, it’s smooth and is very satisfying to hear. The stores are well put together and are fun to listen to. And for all those saying that the episodes don’t come out very often: Logically, it takes a while for someone to come up with a good story that sounds good. Plus, this might just be a hobby for the creator. He has a life outside of making sleep cool stories.
Thank you so much for sharing your talents!
A nourishing podcast. I have enjoyed listening wherever I wander, especially at evenings in new and unfamiliar places. The stories are clearly original and inspired by literary imagination. I think MacDonald and Lewis and Tolkien would also enjoy these yarns, spun outside of the commercial sector. I feel that we are in good hands with Mr. Jacklin and his stories.
Easy to drift off to at the end of the hectic day - thank you so much for your stories. Keep it up please!
My sincere thanks, Mr Jacklin. I have so enjoyed your stories especially at night when my mind seems to spin out, hashing out the day. So impressed with your talent, your deep, soothing voice and your writing. I’m always touched and comforted at times.
I have tried many many bedtime story apps, but always come back to Borders of Sleep. I have fallen asleep to these amazing, creative stories countless times. The use of language and the tone of Mr Jacklin’s voice are exactly the ticket to sweet dreams. But I want more of these wonderful bedtime stories.
Mr. Seymour, first I love your name!! Your beautiful writing is so full of artistic creativity! I feel like your stories wrap around me with your beautiful words bringing me such happiness 😇Thank you for sharing!! I always look forward to your new writings. Xox g
Amazing sleepy and perfectly boring also TEN YEARS OF STORY TELLING? loooooooooooook 2011 when I was born to 2021 probably the best/worst year
They are the most charming stories, being read to you in the most mellifluous voice. It's almost too good to be true!
Your stories are wonderful! Lady Isabella was especially amazing and is my favorite so far. Thank you for this one, I know I will revisit this one again and again. Sleep well , sweet dreams.
I thoroughly enjoy these stories and find them so soothing, especially after a long work day. Your voice is just the right amount of softness that adds to the story, but not like a whisper as some “story” podcasts are, which can be distracting. Please continue writing these unique and interesting stories.
Everything about this podcast is perfect. Your stories are amazingly beautiful and your voice is so soothing. I am truly stunned by your talents. How can one person come up with so many unique tales?
I have been a long time listener since 2014 and your tales are unforgetable. Beautifuly, and artfully writen. Very poetic at times and the imagery is superb. You have a way of captivating your audience and really transporting us where you want us to go. True storytelling is a rare gigt, especially in this age.' These tales have a way of making one feel safe and comforted, perfect for sleep, or cozying up under blankets in the winter. Nostalgic and truly wonder full.
The stories are wonderfully imaginative and evoke a sense of fairy tales, even when clearly set in modern day. Lovely music is included to add to -- and not distract from -- the soothing and calm narrative. The is quite a joy to listen to.
Thank you for continuing this podcast. You are an inspirational and talented writer. Your ability to create detailed descriptive images is pure art. Magical to be sure. You have an eager and appreciative audience:)

5/5

I looked for ages for a podcast that would have good ratings and was suitable for children ( I'm around the age of a child and tween) and I saw this podcast. I decided to listen to the 1st story and it was amazing and I couldn't wait for the next one to listen to. I the way it is narrated the story and music is great 10/10. I bet I will listen to this podcast every night. I know it is this podcasts job to put me to sleep and get it is was to good to sleep on the stories are the best part. Sorry, I just am obsessed with this podcast. I will say this one last time: this story, narration and music, suitable for children 100,000,000 OUT OF 10. I'm getting tired from just writing this because of the podcast.
It feels like I'm sleeping or dreaming when I listen, and these are not like any I've listened to before. Just a normal tale that doesn't have anything to do with lessons or folktales. It makes me feel emotions and feelings at the same time and I sometimes wonder if they are enchanted! Love the podcast, and please make those fantastic tales come more often!
I’m thoroughly enjoying these readings. Everything is perfect except that instead of falling asleep, I want to hear ‘just one more’. So I’ll listen to them when I’m sewing or cleaning the house instead!
This is an awesome podcast. Your voice is perfect. Please continue to keep this frequent. Many need this and appreciate it. Ginny
I look forward to every new story. Your voice is very soothing and does not have “too much” of a British accent for an American to have to strain to listen. Perfect! Your stories have just the right amount of intrigue. I have listened to all of your podcasts several times. They are a very good length. I have my iPhone set so that only one episode of any podcast plays. Often, I will realize that I went to sleep so quickly that I do not know the end of the story and I will replay it for another night or two. And, if I still have not been awake to the end, I will listen in a morning just to get to the always surprise ending. Falling asleep in your podcast is not an insult to you, your voice, your story. It is a superb compliment. No other Podcast of short bedtime stories match these for brining me contentment and help in going beyond the “borders of sleep.” I seek them out any night I decide to listen to podcasts when I need to fall asleep. I may have tossed and turned for a couple of hours before coming to the conclusion that I need to listen to Seymour Jaklin and his “‘Borders of Sleep.” And, your stories a perfect even if I have listened to them before. I have found no other podcast that I enjoy as much for bedtime listening.
I love falling to sleep each evening with his calming voice in my ear and the imaginative stories. Keep them coming!
Longer, and even more lyrical! Though I enjoy each and every story, whatever its length. I’ve listened to all of them multiple times. So exciting to see a new one posted. Keep them coming Seymour!
Looooooove this one! Tender and delightful.
I would wait many fortnights for a new Seymour story! I have been a listener from the beginning when stories were posted regularly. As they became less frequent they became so much more coveted! I get SO happy when I see a new episode! I have listened to all of the episodes many times over. I highly recommend them as bedtime or anytime episodes. Thank you Seymour! For all of your stories over the years no matter how far apart they may be. I highly recommend Bear Bridge, The Tale of Two Pots, Between Two Tides and Subterranean. Some classic Seymour!
Clearly they don’t post new episodes too often. Question: does it actually help you sleep?! Okay, so I guess 😔 I haven’t listen to any episodes but just by looking at the episodes. They’ve been posting every YEAR. Yes. I said the word YEAR. I personally H A T E HATEHATEHATE those type of podcasts. For me it’s every week or every day that works. It’s just stupid to only post every year or month. You’ll get no listeners.
I am new to this podcast and I am so happy that I found it! I just love Mr. Jacklin’s wonderful stories and he reads them beautifully. I like to listen to them near bedtime but not too close to sleeping. I want to hear the whole story! Then I can settle in and think about it until I fall asleep. This is a real jewel!
I’ve been going to sleep to these for about two years, but I even listened to the stories just to see how they end up during the day.
Love this amazing podcast. I really hope there is more to come - maybe in 2020? I’m ready for more of the amazing narration and the somehow simultaneously trippy and comforting stories.
Absolutely fantastic writing and story telling. His writing and reading style are refined and crisp, with illustrative description that paints a vivid picture of the stories. His voice is soothing and engaging. This would be 5 stars if the podcast was more consistent. This would be one of the best storytelling podcast in the world if they made regular releases.
Just what I need to fall asleep quickly and deeply. Great stories with imagination, told in a soothing yet engaging way.
I first found "The Prince and The Bird" around 2 years ago. I was on the treadmill with my ear buds and I was so wrapped up in the story, I thankfully forgot I was excercising and I was so touched I teared up at the end! I actually played it again. I have since listened with great anticipation to each Border of Sleep story. The delivery of the stories is top notch. Mr. Jacklin's cadence & voice will hypnotize you into the story itself. I can feel my inner child sitting cross-legged on the libray story rug each time I push play. With so much craziness in the world, I am thankful individuals spend their precious time making stories that perk our imaginations and creativity UPward. By far one of my favorite podcasts of all time.
I love, love, love this podcast. I just discovered it a few weeks ago and now it’s a nightly routine to listen and relax before bed. I love the stories and I love Seymour’s voice. Please make more!!
I love this podcast, the stories (I’ve been awake long enough to finish) are great and the narrators voice is calming. If I’m having trouble sleeping I put this on and know I’ll be asleep soon.
This is a super creative, beautifully read podcast. The only thing I am not happy with is the music. Sometimes, it's too loud and distracting.
I love this podcast!! Please give us more!
I was specifically searching for a warm, rich British accent to “sing” me to sleep. I’ve definitely found it here! Thank you for your voice.
I love everything about Stories from the Borders of Sleep. The stories are interesting, the tone of the reader's voice ( Seymour Jacklin)and the way he reads them have a comforting effect and i fall asleep every time, before the end. Thank you!
I love this podcast. I listen to it as I fall asleep at night. I have really bad anxiety and these stories are always interesting enough to keep my mind occupied as I wind down for the night. Incredible imagery and beautiful, engaging writing. Plus his voice is wonderfully calming! Thank you Seymour and team! I really hope you put out more episodes soon, I’ve listened to them all at least three times each! Edit: YAYYYY NEW EPISODE! Thank you!!
