Whoever this dumb lady is they have on this podcast now is dragging this podcast straight down. She’s not a fan of the Bengals on a BENGALS PODCAST and she’s been wrong rooting against the Bengals for the past several weeks. Her analysis is as dumb as the national media who are also rooting against the Bengals. Get someone new and let this lady go report on the Steelers or some other team. We don’t need her negativity on a podcast for Bengals fans!
Who exactly thought that Bengals fans would enjoy a show hosted by 2 writers who aren’t bengals fans and aren’t very knowledgeable about the team?
Charlie actually listed that as one of their unique advantages as podcast hosts lol.
Still, I really enjoy Kelsey’s take on things and they set up big time interviews (Ja’Marr Chase, Lou Anarumo, etc). I liked it better when she had it on her own honestly.
All those complaints aside, I look forward to releases every week as it straddles the border between casual commentary and Xs & Os breakdown very well and presents very listenable content.
That’s because I’m a junkie for Bengals talk. This would rank last in all the Bengals shows Im aware of.
I started listening about halfway through the season and I’m trying to remember if Kelsey has ever picked the Bengals to win? Certainly not in the playoffs. She must enjoy being wrong!
Current two hosts flat and awkward. Podcast has become unlistenable. Unfortunate because bengals content is at a premium right now with the team’s post season run. Unsubscribing.
The BBP took a big step back when Paul Dehner Jr left for the Athletic, but it was still ok. Tyler Dragon was frequently way off on his analysis BUT he was entertaining. Lindsay Patterson was def the star of the show IMO. Kareem Elghizaar offered great insight and personality but was dropped fairly soon after the reboot. Charlie Goldsmith was ok for an additional viewpoint. However now it’s just Goldsmith and newcomer Kelsey ?Crawford?. It’s just about unlistenable. They don’t have a lot of on mic charisma. Give it back to Lindsay and put in Kareem as a headliner. Thank God there’s the Athletic podcast!
I tried but After listening to this podcast it became pretty obvious this group doesn’t want to hurt their chances/access with the Bengals Organization. Here’s a hint. If you want people to listen to your podcast then you need to be critical of an organization that deserves criticism. Take the rose colored glasses off and be real.
The host, Lindsay, sounds like a know it all cheerleader who can’t formulate a real take. It’s almost like she practices her lines before recording. Add in her annoying accent/pronunciation and bland cliche points and it makes me want to turn off the podcast. Tyler seems to be somewhat in touch (he’s the actually reporter) but I don’t sense he’s been around long enough to understand the history of being a Bengal fan. He can’t relate.
Overall, I feel like I could go to Applebee’s and get more insightful opinions from the bartender. There are too many other quality Bengals Podcast to waste time on this one. It’s sad because I used to love this podcast when Paul and Jim where running the show.
The analysis is shallow and the podcasters mince words and half-heartedly echo each other instead of and saying what they mean and challenging each other to get to the heart of issues. I can’t stand listening to this podcast.
I’ve been looking for more Bengals coverage since the season is upon us. The Bengals Beat Podcast isn’t for me. Not sure who at the Enquirer is signing off on this production but it has to be questioned. This podcast reminds me of what it would sound like if NPR made a football podcast. I looked up the host. Not sure what media credentials she has except she tweets A LOT or just retweets other people’s work. The actual journalist , Tyler, seems to be informed and has good points but it didn’t hold my interest. There was another kid on there but wasn’t sure of his role but he at least sounded eager and not like a scripted robot like the host did. I prefer host that aren’t afraid to say negative things. Host that challenge ownership or question coaching decisions etc. Overall, there are much better Bengals Podcast out there.
The content of this pod cast is fine, my problem is with Lindsay Patterson. She is absolutely terrible. Speaks like she is an auctioneer, slurring her words together at hyper speed and is totally not understandable for the majority of the broadcast. Acts like she’s being paid by the Number of words spoken and how fast she can talk. Terrible broadcaster!
This podcast has really fallen off since Paul left. The world gets enough political and social information everywhere else. A sports podcast should talk about sports.
As Bengals fans this was a podcast my husband and I would listen to weekly. Now that Paul is gone it’s just hard to listen too. We tried but Lindsay offers boring takes that are bland and basic. I get caught up in her over pronunciation and fast talking that I forget what she’s saying half the time. Tyler is trying but it’s hard to follow in Paul’s footsteps. Remember when Charlie Sheen left Two and a Half men and Ashton Kutcher tried to replace him?? You get the point. Maybe some changes would bring me back but for now I’ve found some other podcast that are much more informative and entertaining. I hate to say it, this was a great podcast in the past.
This was an enjoyable podcast...not anymore. I realize Paul and Jim aren’t coming back but why were these two chosen as replacements ?? I know the Bengals are struggling but that should make for great discussion. Instead it’s bland and predictable. Tyler is decent but comes across as not really wanting to be apart of the Bengals beat...almost like he had to take the job until something better comes along. Lindsay is hard to listen too. It’s like she’s making tryout tapes and trying to sell herself. Most of what she says is basic at best. Not sure why she’s there. Hopefully change will be coming so I can start listening again.
Used to be my favorite part of the bengals coverage. Linds and kareem are fine but man tyler needs to work on his presentation. This pod desperately needs a third person with team knowledge. I hope some changes are coming to improve the pod.
Was my favorite pod with PDJ and Jim, enjoyed it with fletcher. Lindsay doesn’t have much to say, and Tyler is too negative and full of himself. Had to unsubscribe. Word to Kareem, hand in there my man.
Boy, the Enquirer is struggling after the loss of Paul Dehner Jr! Used to be my favorite podcast. Had to unsubscribe. Like listening to a cheerleader on one side and Cleveland from Family Guy on the other. Neither of these have much depth.
Paul really raised the bar for this podcast. I was very optimistic and gave the reboot a real chance but I found myself listening to 5 or 10 mins and deleting the episode. It got to a point where I had to unfollow.. Lindsay’s voice can be too much, and to fast to follow at times, but the real issue is that BBP is referencing stories and views that are several days old. Other Bengals podcast are on top of the events as they unfold.
As others have commented, the takes and the humor of veteran and justifiably jaded hosts/ reporters seem to have left with the departures of Paul and Fletcher (previously Jim). Lindsay, Kareem and Tyler sound professional in their presentation and the audio quality is consistent, it’s only there is nothing interesting or notable said. I’m not sure if the gloss of this new cast is simply reflecting the glossy new coaching staff, but this version of the show seems more like a hype machine with generic personnel updates than an informed or occasionally critical eye at a team and organization that is similarly in flux and looking for an identity. At the moment, both the pod and the Bengals seem like long-shots at best. I may listen again before the season, but the format of this podcast as developed with Paul as host offered greater depth of reporting, greater candor and questioning, or both, and I truly hope this new group finds a new angle and purpose for this forum. Right now, it’s like rote practice in cheerleading.
The local Cincinnati reporters have their finger on the pulse of the Bengals and really understand the club way better than any national or other outside media do. They have solid discussions with the players and coaches and put in the effort to show you can trust them to get it right and to tell it like it is.
Paul and Fletcher are very informative, intelligent in their analysis, and are incredibly funny in the process. This is a must listen on a weekly basis!
I have loved this podcast for a few years now. Paul and (now) Fletcher do a great job staying level headed about the team and the game while still providing some entertainment.
I live I Hawaii (born in Cincinnati) and am extremely dependent on the BBP to stay up to date on all things Bengals. Love the attention to details and in depth analysis, as well as the humor! Jim and Paul, big Mahalo for all the hard work you guys put into your craft! 5 ⭐️’s!
Good insight and interviews with team players and coaches and interesting discussions.only problem is the technical aspects..sound cutting in and out and background noises. Other than that pretty good podcast.
In the Corey Dillon podcast it sounds like the hosts were moving close to the mic and then away from the mic. There were parts you couldn't hear and then parts that might blow your speakers. Great content though! Need some work on the production. I hope the others aren't this way.
For those who are afflicted with a love of the Cincinnati Bengals, there is no other competitor. Hot Take James is the Steven A Smith of Cincinnati, without the smarts or the wit. Paul and Jim are the batman and robin of the Bengals fandom, and make every podcast a good one. Lots of team info, with enough personalization to help you appreciate where they're coming from. And you'll always find out why Jim was Angry, and why Paul is happy. Thanks guys.
the hosts have lots of access to players and personnel and offer by far the most insightful and accurate coverage and analysis of the Bengals I have ever come across. Very funny at times too, they have good chemistry
Paul and Jim do a great job with this show and it's the one podcast I must listen to every single week. Only complaint is that I get a error every time when the new episode attempts to automatically download with my subscriptions. Luckily there is a workaround by finding the show with the search function and forcing it to download there for the episode list. This is the only podcast that does this to me so I don't know if this is isolated on my end or widespread. Either way not a biggie but thought I'd pass it on in case it was something on the shows end that could be fixed. Otherwise keep up the great work! Who Dey
