Making Contact is hands down one of the best podcasts out there. Covering important topics with compassion and genuine interest, this incredibly well-produced program is a high point in my week. The Radio Project team also brings actual community members to the mic to tell their own stories with their fellowship program. There is no excuse not to add Making Contact to your podcast rotation if you care about social, environmental and racial justice.
Making Contact consistently covers topics I don't hear anywhere else--and I listen to a lot of progressive radio. Their focus on storytelling and community makes for a show that is strikingly human. I am regularly inspired, disturbed, and even moved to tears by the content. When I set up a recurring monthly donation, they called me to express their appreciation. Extraordinary. I first heard this show on a local radio station, and sat in my driveway for twenty minutes to hear the end of a story. It's some of the best investigative journalism around social justice issues that I've heard. Highly recommended.
I love podcasts but this is by far my favorite. I am an activist and physician and so I enjoy this for being there for me to keep up inspiration during the tough times.
