Reviews For Global Voices Podcast

This podcast is a monthly highlight for contributors and readers of the Global Voices community. Anyone interested in online social movements, citizen journalism, and global culture will greatly enjoy. Each episode features interviews and commentary from bloggers in multiple countries across the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, Europe, etc. The podcast won top ranking in the European Podcast Award in 2011 (UK non-profit category).
I heard of this podcast on the Kojo Nnamdi Show (off WAMU Radio - itself an exceptionally good listen) during a discussion about how the internet might actually promote increasingly narrow and extreme views and opinions. People who use the internet tend to search out and read/listen from websites that support their own point-of-view. Reading a newspaper almost forces a person to be exposed to diverse views and news just by way of turning the page and accidentally reading a headline. The internet can allow one to avoid these "nuisance" articles. Global Voices presents to all an important variety of information from around the world. All is presented from diverse peoples and points-of-view.
