Great for your commute, gym or in the background while doing chores. Rico is a good guy holding together a family of geeks and nerds with intrests in Star Trek and sci-fi. His style is warm and confortable and the shows range from interesting and fun to facinating.

Treks in Scifi was one of the first three podcast I start listening to back in 2006.. It remains at the top of my list after 9 1/2 years of listening. It even motivated me to startemy a movie podcast with a friend. Thanks Rico!

This is simply the best podcast I’ve listened to. Rico does an amazing job of creating a fun and entertaining show. I down load it and listen to it every Saturday morning. You don’t need to be a Trek fan to appreciate the cast. Something for every Sci-Fi fan. THANK YOU RICO!!!!

i have been listening to this podcast for at least 4 months, i haven't heard a bad podcast yet. they hit all my favorite sci fi.

A podcast that not only deals with the star trek universe but other fantasy and sci-fi subjects.Pleasant host and sometimes guest hosts,fun,informative.I recommend this podcast to anybody,not just trek fans.

This is right up there as one of the first podcasts that I listen to every week. Even though Rico is now hosting every other week, the guest podcasters do an excellent job. Although I have to say, I look forward to Rico's "on" week.

Podcasting is tough, but Rico does the impossible by consistently creating a wide view podcast on Sci fi that always interesting. Whether you're a Trekkie, love Star Wars, LOTR, Back to the Future, Rico and his top notch contributors work together to make a great podcast week after week. Even though I think I am a well read Sci Fi geek, this podcast reveals something cool I never knew about a particular subject, movie, etc, week after week. It even includes song parodies, so good that you think they were performed by the real artists. Kudos to Rico and the team. Keep the geekery coming.

This is far and away the best sci-fi podcast I've heard on the net. It's not just star trek but all manner of sci-fi tv and film. Lots of fun and informative. Definitely worth subscribing to.

I have been listening to Rico for two years and have enjoyed every episode. It is worth subscribing to. Unfortunately five stars are not enough.

Four years ago, I was looking for a good SciFi related podcast (Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, TV&Film shows, fantasy, etc). I found this one and was hooked! This podcast and its online community are awesome, and over the years continues to produce quality content, combining reviews and discussions about Trek and a wide variety of SciFi shows/movies, with news and information about upcoming movies, books, Collectibles, and conventions. Most podcasts are audio but vidcasts are also part of the mix of content that is published weekly on this broadcast. There is literally something for everyone here! Rico Dostie, the grandfather of podcasting, adds another unique dynamic into this show by inviting and including comments and feedback from the listeners. He will often have listeners come on the show to produce 'guest casts' on specific topics/shows, allowing other ideas and perspectives to be heard. In fact, many listeners have started their own podcasts, having been given their 'start' by Rico. This is without a doubt, THE best podcast on all things science fiction I have ever heard. Rico Dostie obviously has a terrific love and an unmatched knowledge of science fiction that he so generously shares with his listeners. Great podcast, not gimmicky or jokey, just geeky goodness!

If you like Sci-Fi, Action Adventure & even a little Horror this is the podcast for you! Rico does a great job on any of the genres. The main focus is on Star Trek and its many shows and Films. I have been enjoying this podcast for awhile now and hope to keep downloading it for a long time!! Check it out!!

Rico does a great job with trek and lots of other geeky goodness. He has built up a great community. This podcast often looks at specific star trek episodes (from all the series and movies) but also sprinkles in other sci-fi and fantasy TV shows and movies.

The Treks in SCI-FI podcast is one of the most entertaining, informative and original podcasts available. If you love sci-fi and Star Trek in particular, this podcast will fill the void that Star Trek left behind when it went off the air. (You pick whichever series that was for you.) My favorite part of the podcast is when the host, Rico, plays a full episode of Star Trek, and provides his own commentary along with it. Overall, a very enjoyable, fun, podcast! This is a pretty good podcast. I've been looking for a podcast that covers all my interests with a strong focus on Star Trek, and i beleive i have a winner. Uncle Rico goes into very good depth covering all the various topics of Sci Fi and all things Star Trek. I especially like it when he has more people talking than just himself, it makes for a much more interesting conversation about the given topic. But, I do enjoy listening to Rico wax on Trek episodes and other topics. That all being said, I do have some suggestions that I think would greatly improve the show. One would be chapters for easy navigation. That way we don't have to hunt around for the end of the the "moring/weekly announcements". He does have a website for all the important info and I'm sure that's really where the detail lies. Secondly, Uncle Rico does tend to ramble and sometimes has momentary failures of the mouth. That's pretty amusing to hear in a bloopers real, but there is something to be said for good old fashioned editing, and i think we could use some here. 60-90 minutes is a bit too long for podcast standards. If he could cut out all mouth misfunctions, rambling and cut down on the weekly announcemnts, we could have a great 40-50 min. podcast that's perfect for listening in car on your way to work. Other than that, I do enjoy listening to this podcast. It's defenately worth a listen. Thanks Uncle Rico!

Wish I could say it better than just saying AMAZING but I can't. This show has been more than just a show, it has been a vessel through some trying aspects of my life right now. Thanks for all you do Rico, your show is Trektastic.

I just wanted to say I'm a long time listener first time write in! I liked the latest 2 podcasts 1 about the sidekicks of Trek. And I also like the little clips of quotes from the character's as well! And at least u did mention the one's I would have picked like, Garak & Dr. Bashir I thought were great sidekick's! And Also O'Brien & Bashir were also great sidekick's together on DS9, and also don't forget about Jake & Nog were like great sidekick's together! Quark and his brother Rom! I guess I had alot from DS9 their?! And also u did mention Kim & Paris from Voyager were their own sidekick's too! Neelix & Kes too, before Kes left! I like the different topic's to discuss u bring up, cause their is alot u can bring up about Trek!

Treks in Sci-Fi was the first podcast I ever downloaded and listened to years ago when it first started. I am still listening. If you love Sci-Fi with a special emphasis on Star Trek, this is the podcast for you. Rico does Sci-Fi news, episode commentary, and listener input. T.V shows and movies are the main focus, with some content on collectibles, books, and even music. Excellent production quality, and a lot of fun!

I really like hearing clips from Star Trek and other scifi-related tv shows and movies that are interspersed throughout each podcast. It feels like I'm listening to an old-fashioned radio show at times...not really a bad thing. :-) Thank U for taking the time to put together a fun podcast each week!

This podcast is probably the best Sci-Fi podcast out there. Not only does Rico cover Star Trek related things, he goes over Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Stargate and many other great sci-fi, so it never gets old. I look forward to listening to the new podcast each week and I highly recommend this to any sci-fi fan.

This show is a MUST for any Star Trek and sci-fi fan. Rico provides wonderful insights into not only many different episodes and films of Star Trek, but current and past sci-fi TV and movies. Rico rocks!

Rico puts a tremendous amount of work into the podcast, which focuses primarily on Star Trek but also branches out into other sci-fi topics. While he does an extremely professional job, Rico also makes sure to keep each podcast lively, folksy and fun. It's very accessible to anyone, no matter their level of interest in the subject matter. After each podcast, you feel like you had a conversation with a good friend about sci-fi things that you like. Check it out. You'll be hooked.

Technically and production-wise, Treks in Sci-Fi is first rate. But the commentary isn't really commentary. Klatu takes his sci-fi seriously and this podcast is too adolescent in its analysis and appraisal of all things sci-fi to hold my attention.

No really Rico. You have the most awesome podcast. To listen to you is honestly like all sci-fi from the angle of a Trek fan. This is super geeky goodness and we thank you for it. Huzzah!

I especially enjoy Rico's podcasts when he watches an entire episode of sf (usually Trek) and comments during it. I feel like I'm sitting on a couch watching TV with a friend. The RPG (represented in the Ready Room Minicast) is also fantastic, a consortium of creative minds working together to build a story.

I am new to podcasting; however, I have been listening to many different Trek-related podcasts. This is by far the best! Love it!!!

Have been listening to this podcast since its inception a couple of years ago. What started as a guy named Rick Dostie sitting in his basement trying to get his microphone to work right and talking about Star Trek has evolved into one of the most entertaining Sci Fi podcasts available. In addition to Star Trek this cast explores all of Sci Fi in all it's glory. As for Rick Dosti, he has turned himself from an amateur into a professional podcast host and keeps getting better. With all the new additions to the podcast, such as the Ready Room, The Father and Son Reviews from Rick M. plus specials he adds from time to time this has really turned into a treasured project. You will absolutely await each new episode with great anticipation. This podcast is geared for the Star Trek Geek or just the average fan who would like to listen to something interesting and fun about Star Trek or Sci Fi. Rick has a good speaking voice and is easy to listen too. Definately give this cast a try. You will not be disappointed!

This is one of the best Star Trek Podcasts you will find on the internet. The audio is 1st class, the speaker, Rico, is suberp in creating weekly podcasts and making them entertaining. I've been listening for over a year and find this podcast to continually release good shows and have never been let down. 10 out of 10!!! The Treks in Sci-Fi Forums are just as good as his podcast and I highly reccommend you suscribe to this podcast if you are any form of a Trek fan. --Linksr

I am a serious sci-fi fan, but I find myself consistently listening to only two sci-fi related podcasts. Rico has me coming back week after week. I believe that the reviews are great, but what I enjoy most about this show is the interaction and acceptance of the fans and the materials they contribute. There might be other good shows out there, but this show isn't bogged down by the skits and fluff. This is a lean show that plays more like a weekly scifi related news program with many on the scene reporters that bring flavor to the whole. This same acceptance of fan contributions transcends the podcast and can be seen in the forum community. I also enjoy how this show isn't bogged down by adverts and sponsors. I can't recommend this show enough!

A truly outstanding podcast. Rico delivers a unique show centered around science fiction that is a "must listen" for those in the know. Humor, news, collectables, and talking in the 3rd person are featured each week for your listening pleasure. Thank you Rico!

Amazingly Rick Dostie keeps the Treks in Sci-Fi podcasts coming week after week and sometimes twice a week. He shows this is a labor of love by putting a lot of his energy into this ongoing series now up to podcast #141. He varies the material each week keeping the podcast fresh and not so predictable. Before you will find yourself downloading back issues and playing them in the car, at work, and elsewhere. My favorite aspect of his show is his taking different trek movies and episodes and playing clips and providing his interpretation. His web-site is another amazing piece of work where you can find interesting notes, photos, and forums. Finally, Rico incorporates submitted sound pieces into his podcasts giving listeners a chance to be involved vs. just listening the work of another. Keep up the excellent technical quality Rico.

I greatly enjoy this podcast. Rico gives very interesting insight on all manner of sci-fi topics. He always keeps it clean. I would highly recommend this podcast.
