The Lapse Storytelling Podcast

Reviews For The Lapse Storytelling Podcast

This podcast is amazing and it was everything I needed but didn’t know I needed. I waited eagerly for each new episode and was broken when they stopped production. Kyle is an amazing story teller in a way that I have never seen before or since this podcast. I have looked for answers or groups as to where this podcast went and what we can do to help Kyle get this up and going again to no avail. I would absolutely donate to get it up and going again! I miss The Lapse so much!
I just found this podcast and I love everything about it! The production is wonderful and the content is fascinating. How do we get it back again? I will donate!
This is my new favorite story podcast. The production values are far higher than any other podcast I’ve heard. I’m definitely prepared to donate monthly to keep it going. Is it totally dead?
awesome! wish you could find a way to keep it going!
Please come back! This podcast is top notch. I will donate!
I just recently found this podcast and have binged almost all of the episodes! I love the variety of topics and storytellers. The sound effects are ON POINT. Sometimes they really crack me up. Glad I found you!

Really great podcast of a wide range of fun, sad, scary, and interesting stories!
Wow so glad I found this podcast! Great storytelling.
I really enjoy this podcast because it keeps being interesting with every episode. The narrative is funny and I like the sound of his voice .
Great podcast!
I just found this podcast! Love it!
I love this podcast! My one complaint is that they alternate the side of the headphones being used and since I am mostly deaf in one ear, I lose a lot of the story. Bummer! Wish I could keep listening because I want to love it!
The production quality of this show is really phenomenal...as are the stories Kyle chooses and the way he presents them. This is a totally unique storytelling podcast. I wish I had a zillion extra dollars to donate so I could listen to this more often. Keep up the awesome work! ❤️
I've been listening to The Lapse for a while now and have tried to support and help Kyle as much as possible because this is a GREAT adventure in listening. I don't know anyone who can take a story and make it come alive like Kyle can. The gamut of stories goes from marathons in Antarctica to mental illness and even death, but Kyle makes them all interesting to me. I can't recall one episode that I didn't like immensely.
Kyle tells great stories! I highly reccommend it!
I fell in love with this podcast when I was finishing up nursing school and driving long distances to classes. So fun and quirky. Some of the stories are funny and some rip your heart out. Kyle has a unique gift to make you laugh regardless of the story.
BECAUSE I CANNOT WATCH THE NEWS. Great podcast-you should at least try it.
I love storytelling podcasts. I was looking for something new and I'm SO pumped I found the lapse. I even turned a coworker onto it within the same week. Highly recommend!
Great stories and I love the whole "gussied up" aspect. However, the host really rubs me the wrong way. It's clear that he think very highly of himself and wastes no opportunity to remind you that he does the podcast all alone (because he's so great!) and that's why he deserves your money. His self promoting really makes me cringe.
Get lost in a great story!
I binged this one and loved it. I support this one thru Patreon/thelapse. Podcasting is going the way of super produced and over produced. This podcaster is one of the best and may stop putting out new episodes if more people don't sign up to support. His stories/episodes have been downloaded over 100,000 times (or maybe it's that he has that many subscribers)....Anyway, listen and support!!! Give a dollar or 2 or 10. I would hate to see this one go off the air
One of the best storytelling podcasts available.
Love this podcast. It's my favorite story telling podcast, if you get the chance make sure you give it a listen. My favorite episode is one where he reads "The tell tale heart".
If you enjoy storytelling podcasts, you gotta listen to this one. One of the best of them...

Support this show. ! I really and sure the host also wants this podcast to continue. So many boring ones , we need to keep this one. Donate .
Great story telling podcast!!!
This is one of my very favorite storytelling podcasts (my other favorites are Strangers and Vinyl Cafe - apparently this US citizen likes folks living and/or born elsewhere hosting the storytelling...). Kyle Gest masterfully weaves long interviews into stories. No episodes have been disappointing.
I'm so happy I stumbled upon this podcast! Love ❤️ ! Healing from a recent concussion and this is helping me get through it by taking my mind off the headaches, pain.. etc. Great storytelling and genuinely entertaining.
I'm loving it! Just listened to the second story and I am hooked. I need something to get me through this cubicle life! Keep them coming!
I love the extras Kyle adds to the stories. If you listen to one, you'll be hooked!

This is a quality podcast to ride to right here. Virtually no flaws in the editing and a great use of audio space to tell a powerful story in a short amount of time.
Just like the tag line says. Gussied up stories. True stories told by the people who lived them with sound effects, music, interesting editing added to make them really fun to listen to. Adds to the mood of the story to bring you in to what's happening. Makes it really real.
I've been a fan of storytelling podcasts for a while but I've always thought adding music or sound effects would really help. Turns out I was right, great job and keep it up!! Wish the episodes/stories were longer! Recovering heroine addict, plenty of stories if you're ever looking.
I love the stories and have listened to every one. I love the way they are told by the real person with sound effects to make it more interesting. I eagerly look forward to each new story. Thank you very much!
This show is easily on par with This American Life and the Moth. Well worth a listen!
Great stories, wonderful production and editing, on par with some the more well known storytelling podcasts.
For finding me on Twitter! Love the stories and format.

I found The Lapse via Twitter. I am now a fan.
I really love the style. This is definitely one of my new favorites.
Love this podcast! Interesting short, true stories.
I just recently found this podcast after they followed me on Twitter and I love it. It's extremely well produced, the stories are interesting, and at about 15 minutes it's a great quick listen
I listen to a lot of podcasts. This is the first one I've taken the time to rate and review. Kyle puts a lot of work into these polished gems.
We listen to several podcasts, always searching for the best stories well told. This is the clear winner. I Kyle Gest is perfect...just enough info, not overkill, great introductions for excellent content. Well done Kyle. One complaint: I wanted to donate some $ to help defray production costs (that's how good this podcast its, don't want it to go away!), and the only available method I could find is a monthly donation. Please make one time donations possible.
The stories told in this podcast are completely pointless- just everyday stories like the ones your boring coworker tells you and you politely suffer through, wondering why he thinks you would be interested. The stories aren't well produced (in one story the guy did a bad impression of a Mexican woman's accent that bordered on offensive) and the stories aren't even told well- the timelines aren't laid out right so they are confusing, there is no real ending, no real meaning to the story. The stories aren't unusual or thought provoking. Very disappointing. I kept listening to them and thought they might improve, but they don't. I am a huge fan of this american life, the moth, snap judgement, the mystery show, radiolab. This just isn't worth your while.
This is my most favorite podcast! Entertaining and great quality. Listen!!!! PLEASE!!! :-)
I love storytelling podcasts and this guy is doing it right. The narrator/creator has a great voice too! Thank you so much for what you do. Snap Judgement is also a favorite, which is how I came to find this one. Great job!
Interesting stories from all walks of life.
The stories are marvelous, but it is the incredible way that they are composed that deepens the appreciation for them for this particular listener.
