The Martyr Made Podcast

Reviews For The Martyr Made Podcast

Anti Zionist case without ever coming out and actually saying it. Reminds me of other leftwing anti Israel takes, like from Horton and Mate and others, constantly coming up with reasons to bash the tiny Jewish state. Needless to say, a book could be filled with the omissions here. You could listen to the entire series and have no idea that the Palestinians were offered their own state under the UN, and they rejected it and have started wars ever since and teach their children from birth to despise Jews, still today. Indeed, the point of this series seems to be to reframe the issue as one that not so subtly blames Israel for the problems of today.
Don’t listen to the cry babies and liberal women. Anyone can check into these things on their own and come to same conclusions. Excited to hear more.
Thank you for all of your hard work to deep dive into our history to deliver the facts! I really enjoy this podcast and how you present the information. you always try to be fair in your perspective. Please ignore the haters that have been brainwashed by propaganda and can’t open their mind to things that don’t align with the story they have been fed all of their lives. Keep putting in the work for the rest of us that don’t like to🤣 the truth is important🇺🇸
I just finished this podcast series, and it’s one of the best I’ve ever heard. Like many people, I wasn’t all that familiar with the machinations surrounding the formation of Israel. Daryl Cooper provides a very even handed description of the events leading to the formation of Israel from both the Jewish and Arab perspective. On more than one occasion, I wept at the sheer barbarity of human race. I think many people’s understanding of a pogrom comes from Fiddler on the Roof. I know mine did. I don’t think most people understand the horror that Jews were forced to endure for centuries as residents of other countries. Most people just think about The Holocaust, but that was just a culmination of centuries of persecution and pogroms. As Daryl says, “What would YOU do?” Now that I have a better understanding of the situation in in Israel, I’m also not sure what the solution is. The Arabs have a right to their land and homes. The Jews have a right to their own country where they’re not persecuted for simply being Jewish. History is more often than not simply a tale of power and conquest. On more than one occasion, I thought about how America was founded on the former lands of Native Americans. America had the strength to take the entire territory of the United States by force, so we did. Israel had the power to take what they considered their rightful homeland by force, so they did. We are not giving the land back to the Native Americans anymore than Israel is giving back their land to the Arabs. What would you do?
Best podcast I believe I’ve listened to and I’m only about 8 episodes in. Subscribed after the 6th. I cannot stop listening. It’s also the only podcast that has made me happy to pull out a notepad and pens and really take time to take in the information. Always keeping an open mind grounded in facts is what this world needs.
I love the way he delivers the history as a simple conversation. So many interesting facts. Is there somewhere we can see the info on the music from the podcast? Episode 1 Fear and Loathing…. Had an great song played at the end. Would love to know the artist.
Never have I been so intrigued by history that is not very relevant to me personally. Darryl’s research and objectivity is quite impressive, and his narration style addictive. The facts he shares are exactly what people need to know so they can avoid repeating the mistakes of the past.

Mr. Cooper has an excellent grasp of facts. He shares his opinion at times but only in such a way as to help you learn how to think and develop your own opinions. Do not be offended at his use of the word “myth.” He has a different definition of “myth” than you normally hear and it is equally valid. He does not mean in any way that the myth never actually happened. His chief gift is his ability to put his listeners in the shoes of the people in the story. He adds greatly to any historical analysis by making it personal to you and forcing you to come to grips with how you might respond in the same situation. I am an addict.
This is awesome. I love going in depth in these topics and coverage of history from different perspectives. It’s like receiving high quality audio books for free.
Started listening from the beginning after his interview with Tucker Carlson. I am slow to add new podcasts to my stream because I like to give them attention and focused listening. I am on the second episode of the Jerusalem pods and absolutely love the information. I have mentioned for years Americans just have no frame of reference in the Middle East because they think it started in 1979, without realizing how narrow and limited that perspective is. Cooper is doing a great job of showing how WWI and WWII and the destruction of the Ottoman Empire and the effort by Europeans to create colonies and subservient States where no states had not existed was a horrible policy. We live today with the results of these efforts to draw new lines and appoint ruling lords over people who never had a State or freedom and then injecting Zionism and European Jews right smack into the middle of the recipe making the whole hing ripe for disaster.
He’s fast and loose from the very beginning and will never have my trust in any review of primary sources as a consequence. When he refers to the Old Testament story of Exodus as mythology rather than history I found him to be particularly lacking. Don’t waste your time.
I am a conservative Christian woman and love history; and I don’t have an aversion to critically exploring long-held or accepted narratives. However, there is nothing intellectual or critical in Cooper’s revaluation of Winston Churchill’s place in history. It’s just laughable and juvenile to be frank. He sounds like a 14 year old teen—“yeah man Churchill was actually the villain of WW2, cool huh!”
How fast can homie read? How are there enough hours in the day? The only thing offensive about the Cucker incident is that he went on that mendacious moron’s show in the first place. Talk to Chris Hedges.
Thank you, your insights and intellectual prowess shine a light onto the past and illuminates where we are now
Just another subscriber coming from the Tucker interview who was very impressed with the research and articulation of Mr Darryl cooper. Just don’t sell out my friend keep up the good work!
*Though the podcaster continues to pretend it’s unbiased but by the 6the episode of Fear and Loathing, the “great Zionist conspiracy” is stamped.* Came back to edit my rating and comment. That is how I felt before I watched the Tucker Carlson interview. Since that interview I see you in a new light and disavow my previous rating and comment. Though I don’t agree with everything you say, I think you are approaching all of these subjects from an objective pov and are honestly trying to look at all perspectives. Keep it up. Love the long form podcasts.

Thank you for not being afraid to tell the truth. I appreciate your research and dedication to the topics you cover. Hopefully there are more people to be less afraid and speak out. I’m sorry they are coming for you. It’s a shame we live in a world that groups of people and sympathizers of those people are so disillusioned that it they take to gnashing of teeth and calls to be cancelled. Your work is valued.
I was quite a ways in and still no mention of the Layton family and CIA involvement. This guy is a Shill for a think tank or two.
Obviously, I am another person who came across this podcast through Tucker and was absolutely blown away by how well-researched and—more importantly—honest it is about history that I find incredibly refreshing. Didn’t hesitate to subscribe and to be honest this is the only podcast I have ever subscribed to…. I do hope Darryl will dig into the so-called Civil War and help better articulate the results of that historical event on the fabric of American society that let up to WWI, WWII and the change in American jurisprudence which plagues us to this very day. In conclusion, if you read this Darryl, I have a study of books concerning the formation of the USA and Civil War era reads that will certainly pique your interest. Thank you and cheers 🍻
Thanks NYT for showing me my new favorite podcast!
I just finished the multi part series on Zionism and the Israeli Palestinian issue. Covers history from 1900 to 1948. 29 hours. And was absolutely captivated throughout. Not only is Darryl’s research meticulous, he presents it in a way that is interesting and entertaining. That’s hard to do. Kudos brother.
The host shows his inability to grasp complex historical concepts and facts. Cherry picks aspects of history that promote his worldview. They have no academic experience or background. Dates, figures, and conclusions are ignored and fabricated in order to come up with propaganda supported by the “host”.
I’m here through the recommendation from Dave Smith, I’m starting from the beginning and I’m loving the Fear and Loathing Series. People are fake aggravated over the Tucker interview and focused on the sound bite but disregard the nuance of history, the mouth breathers are reacting with a religious fervor over their nationalistic mythology. I blame the school system, regardless, keep up the great work.
I’ve learned so much about history that I’ve never learned while I was in school or in the media. This podcast is very informative and well put together. I encourage everyone to check it out!
This podcasts explains historical events from as many perspectives as it can. listening to it will help open your mind and see the world from others shoes.
They will never shut us up. It’s not about whether I agree with what you say or not. It’s about the right to speak and to listen to another speak. So grateful for that first amendment. It is such a precious gift to those fortunate enough to live in these United States. 🇺🇸
Looked into this podcast after hearing his interview with Tucker in early Sept ‘24. I’ve been a WW2 buff for decades and his perspective on Churchill’s England really caused me to go back and re-evaluate some things that had always bothered me. I actually went home after hearing it and told my wife about it as she and I had previously discussed the very same conclusion ourselves; that the policies of the British resulted in a prolonged conflict. Doesn’t stop me from loving the man nor does it make me any less patriotic and I’ll always believe that the ‘good guys’ were victorious over the ‘bad guys’ ultimately. I’m quite excited to listen to the upcoming series on WW2 if it’s offered on Apple, as my poor life choices prevent me from catapulting any paywalls for the near future. Regardless of this, I am enjoying, and shall continue to enjoy, the incredible quality (and quantity!) of free material that is available here and would like to give my encouragement to the host for his dedication and hard work that has resulted in this top notch podcast. One last thing - anyone with at least a third grade education should’ve understood his point regarding Churchill, and did so. I was totally unaware of the fuss it had caused (guess I’m one of the ‘lucky ones’ ha!) until I heard about it on the Sept 8, ‘24 release here, but I’m not in the least surprised. How anyone could have actually listened and paid attention to that interview’s context and come away with any of these ridiculous conclusions only demonstrates the intellectual deficiencies that characterize this modern age….the largest contributing factor to this being that no one muses on things anymore…or these folks didn’t listen at all but just commented on comments. Dummies. Awesome Podcast. Top shelf and NOT for dummies. IMPORTANT WARNING: requires attention span / open mind preferred
I learned about Darryl Cooper and his work via his appearance on Tucker Carlson’s. Immediately, I was taken by Darryl’s unapologetic yet delicate and magnificently balanced, erudite perspective of historical or sociopolitical events that have been discussed in live forums or covered ad nauseam by mainstream ‘historians’ and other ‘intellectuals’ who dare not to deviate from the accepted narrative and therefore purposely omit contentious points of views and uncomfortable facts. It’s been a week since I downloaded the first episode: I find every single one of them simply fascinating and entertaining and every topic and sub-topic to be thoroughly researched and uniquely approached. Darryl’s penchant for accuracy and balanced arguments is not just inspiring but also refreshing and intellectually rewarding. I must confess, more often than not, I find myself rewinding every episode too many times because I don’t want to miss a single word of what he says. I hope Darryl finds the time he needs to continue his work because the world needs him and his fair, unbiased, thoroughly studied takes on history’s most significant events and of the peoples involved in them. As a non-conformist who’s spent a good number of her adult years in academia and has been so turned off by a world full of pseudo-intellectuals/thinkers, Darryl proves that it takes a simple man with infinite humility and determination to put in the good work to be able to produce real historical knowledge.

He has a command of history. He has synthesized several articles and books that I have read throughout the years in a way that professors would never entertain.
I was introduced to this podcast by Tucker Carlson podcast. This is the best fact based historical podcast I’ve ever heard. Highly recommend listening to this.
Amazingly balanced and deep looks at important historical events that still effect us today. Honestly his series on Israel and Palestine should be required listening. The episodes on coal mining strikes were richer and more informative than anything I heard in my US History classes.
I furreals thought I was the only geopolitics/ history nerd who loved long-form audio like this, yet here this is at #1 on Apple Podcasts. Shocking but I guess everyone appreciates putting current-day conflicts into context. Separately, I feel conflicted about reviews I have read suggesting that Mr Cooper is a holocaust denier. It’s hard for me to believe that could be possible when he appears to show a balanced and very informed view of history, but I will update this if needed in the future. I would appreciate if Mr Cooper would release an episode about his own bio and background. Who are you?
Saw him with Tucker so I checked out the podcast excellent work very informative.
Hitler gets a pass for WWII & Churchill is the bad guy? Tucker? This guy is ridiculous.
He’s reading off of Wikipedia.
Coming from an isolationist perspective, a lot of good points and observations, yet full of omissions and emotional inflections largely misapplied. Are those intentionally misleading? I doubt it. With a superficial glance-over by bad actors, could be used as a reference material for Anti-Israel propaganda. Not a lot of background on the term “Palestine”. Not a lot of light shed on the role of the Soviet Union in the creation of the PLO. Granted, the story is packed in within the pre-1948 years. G-d bless Israel!
I was introduced by his appearance on Tucker Carlson Network earlier this week and ran to download the show. My first full listen was to the Epstein episode and it blew me away! Please keep doing the work you are doing. I will seek you out on Substack to help contribute to the cause. Great show! Thank you!
Like the way it is presented
But I couldn’t wrap my head around the overall connective theme of the podcast. It’s ultimately just some random guy’s essays on history that are slyly slanted and increasingly schizo. The crackpot hangs with Tucker Carlson and Tim Pool. Plausibly some sort of ethnonationalist. Stay away fellas.
Interesting but you missed it. Easter is not about martyrs it’s about the Resurrection. Also, the early Christian martyrs standing with other martyrs, they were the martyrs. I’ll listen to your take on more recent historical events. Your understanding of Jesus Christ is weak. I’m sorry about that.
Like many who discovered Darryl’s work several years ago, I considered him to be the best podcaster in my feed, by a long shot. His ability to really dig deep into all sides of a story was unsurpassed. I recommended him to every fellow podcast listener, and I subscribed to his substack. And then something changed. Like others, I first noticed it around the Epstein series. There were so many outlandish and unsourced claims that, when I tried looking it them myself, either turned out to have totally plausible and innocent explanations, or which I could find no info on. Darryl stopped putting sources in his show notes a long time back. This pattern continued up until his “Whose America” series, which I consider to be excellent, but by then it was too little too late. Darryl remains a notorious Twitter troll. For a while I thought I could separate the art from the artist or whatever, but in the end it fundamentally comes down to a lack of trust. If you demonstrate frequent intentional dishonesty on one medium, then I cannot trust you on any medium—especially with unsourced material.
Darryl Cooper has an agenda but doesn’t share it aloud in his work. An influence campaign under the guise of objectivity.

Hogiutdordpuf is a bot and needs to be stopped. P.s I only rated this one star so that people will notice it.
This is a truly a remarkable podcast. Darryl Cooper is a nuanced, thoughtful, historian – known for his objectivity and deep research. His humility and empathy truly come through in each episode. His views are not beholden to a specific brand of politics or ideology–although many may try to claim him, or feel he speaks for them. If one could ever truly be neutral—he is as close as I’ve ever seen. His magic is in trying to understand all angles of something–especially the very difficult parts of our history.
