Who is this man? - Brian Talbot

In this familiar story of the water changed into wine, John the gospel writer points us back to "on the third day" when the old covenant was given (Exodus 19). There at the foot of the mountain God gave his people his words; at the Cana wedding Jesus, introduced as the Word of God, was there. And in Hosea the people are called back to God, to be raised "on the third day". At the Cana wedding Jesus' response to his mother points forward to the wedding where He will be the groom to his bride, the church. John records that the disciples understood and believed in Jesus. Do we really get Jesus?
