Rachmaninoff Prelude in C# minor Op. 3 no. 2: Hope vs. Fate

Rachmaninoff sets two voices against each other in his most famous piece: the C sharp minor Prelude, Op. 3 no. 2. The fateful motif in the low register rings like funeral bells and the response in the high register tries desperately to find a way out of the nightmare.
