European Citizens’ Initiative: ‘Fur free Europe’

Fur production has been declining in recent years due to increasing awareness of animal welfare, concerns about its environmental impact and associated public health risks. The Citizens’ Initiative ‘Fur Free Europe’ aims to ban fur farming and sales of fur products across the EU. The initiative’s organisers collected more than 1.5 million signatures to support their demands and demonstrate how EU citizens can be actively involved in EU policymaking.
