Paving the way to green steel

For our modern world, steel is an essential material. At the same time, the steel industry is responsible for a great deal of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions.Steel production is one of the pillars of European industry but also one of the most challenging sectors to decarbonise. In order to reach the goals of the European Green Deal, the EU needs to reduce its ecological footprint, and the European steel industry has to play its part in that. But is it even possible to produce green steel?
