Bardball's Bardcast #1
Welcome to the first Bardball Bardcast. Bardball is a website dedicated to baseball poetry, specifically poetry about the current season. Poetry and doggerel have had a long history with baseball, which we are honoring and resurrecting. Fans contribute the poetry, songs and videos we post on Bardball.com. At the end of the year, we hope to have immortalized the entire season, for every team nationwide, in song and verse. This inaugural Bardcast contains:"There Was a House," by Hart Seely, a lament on the demise of the House That Ruth Built."Queen City Bingo" by Doug White, a quick critique of the Cincinatti Reds front office."Kissing HER on the Strikes" by Todd Herges, a spring training riff on the crack attributed to Dizzy Dean, about a couple making out in the outfield and where they were planning to kiss. Our theme music, "Elmer 21-Century Hop" was written by Rodd Keith. Our incidental music was written by Kevin MacLeod at Royalty Free Music, with the exception of "Kitten on the Keys", which was written by Zez Confrey. Go Zez!!For fresh baseball poetry every weekday during the season, check us out at Bardball.com.
